It works great!
I have a fluffy German Shepherd who sheds tremendously. His fur gets matted very easily too if not brushed everyday. This really helped with certain area that needed deshedding. My dog looks like he's happier so I think that's a plus! It does have a blade in there to deshed so don't do it too much or your dog will be left with a lot less hair.

GREAT CAT DE-MATTING TOOL +++
We have just added a stray momma cat and her kitten to our family of five cats, and I really needed to finally resolve the flying fur problem inside our home. Two are long hairs, one medium hair, and the others are short-haired but still shed a lot in warmer months. I have spent so much $$$ on grooming tools and none but a tiny combination flea comb ever helped - and that didn’t help much at all with the long hairs.I know this grooming set is meant for dogs, but one reviewer said it worked so well on his long-haired cats, so I spent another $20 - and prayed! I’m thrilled to say it DOES work on ALL of my cats! Both comb and the undercoat groomer are very well made, easy to hold, and the inner blades of the groomer can EASILY slice thru even thickly matted fur. I was able to rather gently remove mats from my long-haired cats’ sensitive belly region with minimal tugging on that delicate skin.It also enabled me to remove all of their overgrown undercoat that had accumulated into this past Summer’s months. I took another reviewer’s advice and used the tool on them every few days and only for 2-3 minutes at a time. For one thing, it doesn’t just grab and remove undercoat. The blades also will shorten the cats’s hair length, which can be very noticeable if you get carried away! It’s best to do a little at a time and then use the comb to get that was loosened up.This is by far the best groomer for cats I have ever used. I just wish the Mfr made one for longer hair so their beautiful coats would remain beautifully long. I think I’ll call them and suggest they try to make one. This tool has two sides, one for very short coats and another for medium short. Nothing really meant for long hair. I am still very satisfied just to be able to de-matt my cats with long hair with it and also lighten up their coats for warmer weather. Using it on them and the comb on my shorter-haired kitties has TREMENDOUSLY reduced cat hair on our furniture and fur clusters floating all around the hardwood floors. I highly recommend buying this set!

Amazing!
This is seriously the best thing I have purchased in as long as I can remember. I was so excited to try it I immediately opened it and grabbed the cat. Within seconds I had easily and painlessly removed a massive amount of hair from my cat. I had no idea so much hair could come out of a cat. This is seriously a MUST have for any cat owner. She felt like a completely different cat after brushing her, no longer does hair fly out every time I touch her and I am not finding piles of hair all over the house.

Takes out the loose undercoats on my cat !
I have a cat that adopted me and all the brushes I’ve used in the past only skim the surface. This one lifts the top layer and gently pulls all the layers and takes out stacks of loose hair. Perfect .

Pleased to be wrong
I was skeptical at first, considering this was a great deal which included 2 types of combs/rakes. I'm usually weary of combo "deals", following the "you get what you pay for" mentality. So far I am pleasantly surprised, and happy to be wrong.1st-- the dematting rake not so much a dematting rake as it is a thinning rake. I used this on my standard poodle who hadn't been cut trimmed in a while and I removed enough hair to fill a gallon size ziptop bag, I've only used the side with the fewest tines on it. Her hair consisted of SUPER tiny tight curls, and after using this comb it was effectively straight. I will caution you, as I'm not entirely sure if cuts the hair or rips it, I do know that some areas were apparently more sensitive than others as it seemed to get her attention in some spots ( legs and feet) more than others. It did not seem to hurt her as she did not whine, whimper or make any other noises to indicate pain, she just looked at me like "WTF?!" This comb did its job and there definitely wasn't any matting and that is what I bought it for.2nd-- the course/fine Grooming comb works as advertised. The comb times don't turn which I am thankful for. This worked great for fluffing my poodles hair. It also worked well at removing matting in small areas that the other rake would have difficulty fitting into/reaching without the thinning the her hair. This comb/rake worked well to ensure she was ready to be groomed and bathed. This is a great alternative to the name brand (Andis) and work equally well in my opinion.Overall-- Considering that I have massive hands and my wife has more petite hands, and Both of these tools feel comfortable in our hands. We've used both tools without hand fatigue. I compared many options before deciding on this set on this one, including buying each comb individually. I am incredibly happy with my decision, if my opinion changes I will update my review.

Worked the best
For our 9 month old Siberian, this worked the best of all the grooming tools we bought (we got the furminator, equigroomer, and generic double-sided brush from Petco). Our kitten really needed something that went all the way through his fur unlike the double sided brush - the metal comb works really well for this and is gentle. The deshedding tool may pull on his fur a bit too much but for us it works better than the equigroomer and furminator.

Best grooming tool EVER!
I have two long haired (Maine Coon) cats -- I have tried many tools including the furminator and nothing worked. The cats would not like it and still got matted. The only solution was expensive grooming appointments. This is the BEST TOOL EVER. I have not had to go back to the groomer in months and my cats have no knots. They also like the feeling of being brushed with this tool -- the first time they have liked brushing. I highly recommend this product.

Didn't work for me!
I'm sure this works for some animals, as the good reviews suggest, but it did not work for my dog. He is a bichon-type mix and could not tolerate the pulling of this tool at all. He has incredibly sensitive skin and is not very tolerant of grooming at the best of times, so this just isn't the right product for him, I guess. It felt sturdy, though, and was nicely packaged. But if your dog is super sensitive, like mine, then I would stick to gently working out matted hair with a slicker brush.

BEST BRUSH SET I HAVE EVER USED!!!
This set came well packaged and arrived in a speedy two days.Where do I start? This Pecute Grooming Dematting Comb Tool Kit - Double Sided Blade Rake Comb + Grooming Comb - Removes Loose Undercoat, Knots, Mats and Tangled Hair product has blown me away with how fabulous it is!I have a beautiful Persian cat and have used a number of different brushes and combs on her. I am fortunate that she loves to be brushed so it's a genuine pleasure where as my Himalayan will kill me if I try.Not only was I able to give my Persian a thorough brushing when I received this, but she asked for more. She continued crying at me every time I stopped! What is uniquely different about this brush is it acts more like a rake with the curled edges and takes off the top coat. My cat sheds sooooo much and I vacuum my condo every single day or it would get out of hand. I am amazed at how much MORE hair came up than any other brush I have ever used on her. It also seemed to massage her where as other brushes seemed to irritate her after a few minutes and I would have to give her breaks. It also takes out those big clumpy matts with gentle ease that are usually impossible to clear unless you use scissors to cut them out which is always a challenge. I don't think I even need to take her to the groomer any more because of this FANTASTIC brush!I also found it very proficient and easy to remove the huge clumps of hair as I continued brushing. This truly makes me want to brush my beautiful cat every day. I have already noticed less hair on the floors as a result.I am going to tell all of my breeder and groomer friends about this excellent and well priced set.1 star = Hate the product- will return2 star = Strongly Dislike the product- will never purchase again3 star = Indifferent- Neither like or dislike the product4 star = Like product5 star = LOVE the productI did receive this item at a discounted or free price in exchange my unbiased and honest review. Saved me a trip to the groomer!
I have a long hair cat, and for those of you who also have them, you'll know that when they shed in the summer, matting becomes a serious problem fast. I ordered this, and it work marvelously! My cat had huge mats that I just worked at slowly over the course of 2 weeks. ( It's wise to only do it in 15 minute sessions as cats generally become irritated with grooming at that point). At the end of the two weeks, the matts were removed, and I got to cancel what would have been an expensive grooming appointment. They don't hurt your cat at all as long as you go gently and slowly. Start from the outside of the Hair Mat and work your way in. The little razors inside the smooth curved prongs take care of the undercoat, which is what you want to be working with for a matted kitty. They are INCREDIBLY durable as well. I've dropped them off the top of my fridge at least 4 times, and they're not worse for wear at all from it. I can't say enough good things about this product. Just remember, patience is key. Your cat isn't going to want to sit around for an hour while you take care of his mats. Do it in 5 to 10 minute sessions once or twice a day, and within a couple weeks time, the difference will astonish you.

Versatile and useful during moulting
The media could not be loaded. With two dogs (long and short coat) and a cat, versatile grooming tool is needed. The comb has narrow and wide teeth. So, you can remove tangles and mat and then comb your pet's hair. It removes the last dog hair after deshedding the coat and leaves the hair shine and soft. It works on cats and dogs. The second tool has two side. One has only 12 stainless steel blades to remove the knot and the other one has 23 blades. Use this side to deshedding and thinning dog hair. The blades are rounded at the end to avoid damaging the animal skins. The deshadding tool is easy to handle.I have many pet brushes and pet combs at home. After comparison, I can state that this one is efficient, versatile and very useful during the moulting.
