Cute, fun idea!
A lot of comments are given about these. They do write like any other regular pen would write. You do have to be careful not to sling them hard because they will fly off the cap, LOL! Also, if you want to keep them writing until you run out of ink, then store them ballpoint down. I gave some out as stocking stuffers and they were such a point of discussion. Big hit!

Great novelty.
I had just ordered these today, so perhaps my rating can't be justified, but after reading some of the other reviews, I feel led, by laughter, to do so. Certain customers are complaining that they are too light to swing or the chain is too short. I really do hope that these people are joking. IT IS A NOVELTY. It will make a FUN addition and conversation piece to my MA collection. Thank you.

Novelty junk that you can’t even fidget with or it comes apart at both ends. Don’t waste your money.

Fun but hard to use
These are adorable pens, but they’re more novelty than practical. It’s very difficult to extricate the pen from it’s cap and the cap doesn’t fit exactly onto the pen. It takes finagling. One of the pens had a massive ink leak that solidified and it took me ten minutes to clean it and to be able to get the pen out of its cap. One pen write okay and the other barely writes at all (the one that leaked). Thankfully, I have a plethora of pens and I mostly wanted this one for decoration and not entirely for writing. So it’s good for laughs but if you’re looking to purchase for practicality, you might want to pass on this one.Or maybe I just got a bad set, I honestly don’t know. Mine could have been a fluke and they are really fun.

Awesome, just not for combat
These are just too cool. The pens both write. You can swing them lightly around for fun. Any negative review stating, "it flys apart" is swinging way too hard. These are a novelty, not a defensive weapon.
