Fishing Harpoon, Stainless Steel Fishing Barbed Spear Aluminum Alloy Rod Gig Gaff with 8mm Screw for Outdoor Fishing Landing Large Fish Frog

I used it flounder gigging for the first time the other night. I am used to a wide, 4 prong, reinforced, 1/4" thick prongs, heavy gig that I built and have used for a while. This gig head does not compare to this at all as it is much smaller and fragile. I bent the outer prong outward just checking spots that i thought could have been flounder. Its good for the money but I am going to weld a strongback bar perpendicular across the prongs to make them more sturdy. Would be excellent for frog gigging.

Bought this for my buddy as one of his 16yr birthday gifts with a head for it also(5 pronged fishing/frog spear head) and he loved it but the first day he used it it snapped in half- weak material 100% if you add something to the head make sure you don't keep it full extended or will snap... even without having heavy weight on it. Would suggest getting better brand of these tho tbh-He did get 2 or 3 frogs with it and 4 fish😤💪🏼

Brought this as an attachment for an existing telescoping pole I have that was set up for grabbing ropes etcThe 8mm thread on this hook fit perfectly and screws on easily.I will update if necessary after it sees more action but at this point it looks like a quality hook that should last a good long time.

Good quality and pretty heavy duty. I personally think it’s way too heavy duty for frogs. I like them though.

I do a lot of floundering so I bought this and a stainless steel head as a back up for my regular gig. The first time I used it, it lasted only about 3 hours and the threads were stripped out. I barely made it back to the truck without the head falling off. I thought these were made for this (floundering), but apparently I thought wrong. I do not recommend these.

It's bent the spin locked don't work on two sections, and very flimsy, I highly recommend buying something else
