I've been playing guitar since I was 6, I am now 63. As a kid, I took lessons and spent 4 or 5 years learning notation and theory. The day I learned to play Louie Louie, the girls started to notice me. Well, it didn't take long before I had me a little Rock & Roll Combo, as my musical education went out the window. That is a choice many kids make, which is simply instant gratification at best. Well, to make a long story short, my lack of a true grasp on theory has limited me immensely. I am again studying theory and this is but one very helpful tool in doing that. I'm having great fun learning the guitar again, after basically playing Louie Louie for over 50 years!

Great tool

I am learning piano and studying music theory online and through related written texts. I also have a number of similar "wheels" but nothing like this one. It packs so much into one tool - tightly integrating so many aspects of music theory. Highly recommended, so much so, I intend to buy a second one as a spare for when this one wears out!

I actually bought it thinking it was a Circle of Fifths. It is plus more. I am a music production hobbyist and a pro drummer. I am not versed in music theory and harmony. This tool helps me find keys, flats&sharps, notes of triads etc. I use it all the time when creating keyboard and virtual instrument tracks in my recordings. The wheel is tight and does not turn easily, plus it was sent in a bag and was bent during shipment. It has straightened out and loosened up over time….its a good tool to have close by.

I’ve been playing guitar and studying music since I was 8-years old. Walter Piston’s “Harmony” has been my bible, until I just received you Wheel of Harmony. It contains an incredible amount of knowledge that is readily accessible and immediately applicable. I wish I’d discovered this years ago! Thank you so much.

Perhaps I don't know how to use it, but I didn't find it useful.

I took a music theory course some years ago, which covered the circle of fifths theory but, absent daily reasons to practice the concepts, the particulars have been forgotten. This is a very handy and convenient device to have readily at hand in the studio to clarify questions about key signatures, etc.

Music is all and theory and the Circle of Fourths and Fifths. This important reference instrument helps a person figure out what is what and when is when with Key Signatures. They make great gifts for players who what to learn the structure of music theory.
