Elizabeth Johnson: Questing for God (People of God)

Great story about a great woman!
Ordinarily I would not be as enthusiastic about a book about a nun, but this one is exceptional. The writing was great and kept my attention throughout the entire book. The book flowed smootly from beginning to end without any breaks in "the action." The book was of interest to me as Elizabeth Johnson is the same age as I am and she faced some of the same obstacles just because she was female that I did. If you are not of this age, it would be a good idea to read it to see what roads have been cleared for women now. Let's hope that there are more like her in the Catholic church to make changes that are so necessary for fair treatment of women.

Great book about a great woman!
This book is a wonderful read about the life of a great woman, religious Sister, scholar and teacher! Heidi Schlumpf has done fine research about Beth Johnson: interviewing Johnson, consulting Johnson's own papers, meeting with Johnson's friends and colleagues, and perusing various articles written about Johnson. It was a book that, once started, I could not put down. Anyone who reads it will be inspired.

I absolutely loved this book
I absolutely loved this book! Elizabeth Johnson became so real....her quests, challenges and struggles, her integrity, courage and humanity. It was heartening to read of the respect, admiration and support that came to her from so many aspects of her life: students, women religious, academics and theologians. Heidi Schlumpf made her so very real. Thank you!

This was an excellent read. A good overview of Elizabeth Johnson's life ...
This was an excellent read. A good overview of Elizabeth Johnson's life with just enough personal history so you could relate. I felt the topics of her difficulties with Church hierarchy were informative without being overly critical. It captured the spirit of Elizabeth Johnson. I highly recommend this book.
