〰️ A Great Addition To Our Home Command Center 〰️
I bought this laminator for our ''Home Command Center'', which is essentially the designated area in our house where the kids schedules are, school information, to-do lists, and anything pertaining to organizing our family of 6. Although our household is gradually transitioning to a paperless approach via a digital filing cabinet system, having schedules, tasks lists, and event information hung around the house is a must, especially with small children. So, laminating schedules and printable calendars for example, is a great way to not only protect papers from sticky fingers, but also to transform certain documents and forms into re-usable versions with the help of dry-erase markers.I bought this laminator back in the early fall of 2022, and have been using it on a daily-basis ever since. I specifically chose this model because it could laminate hot pouches up to 10-mil thick, compared to the more basic, standard laminators that have the capacity of 3-5mil at most. I love the fact that it automatically adjusts to the pouch thickness, without the need of constantly having to fine-tune the settings in between projects. I've used it to preserve kids artwork, to create my own reusable stickers, for making kids token boards, and visual schedules...just to name a few. Plus, the auto shut-off prevents it from overheating in case I forget to turn it off.My starter kit came with 10 x Fellowes 3mil pockets and a cleaning sheet for the rollers. In the instructions, the manufacturer does state that : ''for best results, clean rollers at the end of each lamination session''.Operating it couldn't be any simpler. Just place the items properly inside the pouch; making sure that the item is snug, against the sealed edge. When the laminator is ready, simply insert the pouch (''sealed end'' first) and the machine will do the rest. In case I inadvertently misfeed the pouches (at an angle instead of straight), the laminator kicks into reverse mode, allowing me to correct the positioning or re-center the pouches. But I always make sure to feed the pockets in gently and slowly, as opposed to force feeding them into the laminator. And to this day, I haven't had any jamming issues. At the end of the day, this laminator does its job, and it does it well. It does take up quite a bit of counter / desk space, especially while in use (the back of the laminator needs to be clear of any objects so that the laminated sheets can properly slide out onto the rear tray). So, the space you have available and this laminator's dimensions definitely need to be factored in before buying. An excellent addition to our home and a great purchase. Would definitely recommend.

excelente equipo

Inferior in All Ways But One to 10 Year Old Fellowes Neptune
I decided to upgrade my Fellowes Neptune 125 laminator which is approaching 10yrs old so I could get the latest and greatest advancements in laminating and use my existing Neptune for redundancy. I bought the Venus 2 125 on the premise it was the latest and greatest and also had great reviews. The big upgrade for me was the heat-up time of 30-60 seconds compared to about 10 minutes with my Neptune.WHATS GOOD?The heat-up time is indeed good. Takes a legitimate 60-90 seconds to get to 10mil heat. I like that because time is money and it makes for a very convenient tool when you turn the machine off and then need to laminate something else quickly and dont need to wait another 10 minutes to heat the thing up.WHAT'S NOT GOOD?Everything else. There is nothing else redeeming about this laminator that is in any way better -- let alone on par with my 10yr old Neptune.- It leaves smudges and smears (glue?) along the lamination edges of almost every lamination.- It leaves vertical lines - perhaps heat lines, roller lines, glue lines, I have no idea -- on every lamination. You can see the lines when you "flicker" the lamination in the light and its downright unattractive and unacceptable.- This laminator takes FOREEEEVVVVVEEERRRRRRR to laminate. Sure it heats up fast, but when it takes 5x as long to actually run a print through the machine itself, how much time did you really save? You could measure the time it takes to laminate an 12x18 pouch with a sun dial. My 10 year old Neptune has to be at LEAST 3x as fast. And thats without any vertical lines and smudges anywhere on my laminated documents. As Im writing this Im still gobsmacked at how slow this machine takes to laminate. I actually cant believe we have taken that far back of a step in 10 years. I figured tech in the lamination business was like everything else -- in 10 years everything works twice as fast and twice as good. Not here. I can't believe Fellowes even ships this product based on how slow it laminates at the $300 price point. I think I paid about $140 for my Neptune 10 years ago and it flies past this thing like its standing still. My 10 year old Neptune is starting to creak and make noises which is why I decided to upgrade, but Im going back to it and sending this new Venue 2 125 back. For $300 it was a step back in every way but heat-up time and the most important things its supposed to do it does at an unacceptable level.

Awesome results.
Bought this for work because our other one broke down. Heats up faster and takes less time to process the sheet as well
