I'm a beginner. All tools work as expected. Good kit.

Like many beginners, I didn't want to spend a lot of money to get started. These tools have been great! They do everything they are supposed to do. The hair stacker is a bit light, but still gets the job done. I don't like the style of whip finish tool this kit comes with (I like the type that allows the head to spin) so I just ordered a different one. Having 2 sets of scissors and 4 bobbin holders is really nice. The overall quality seems great; I don't anticipate needing to replace anything in the kit any time soon.

Too bad this set is "currently unavailable" and very glad I grabbed a second set before that happened. This is not a bad set of traditional fly tying tools. A simple paper towel polished the brass right up to a nice shine and the tools work flawlessly. The hackle pliers are a little stiff (this style usually is), but that's my only real complaint. The two sets came with different rotary whip finishers (a large one in one set & a smaller one in the other set). While both work just fine, I prefer the smaller of the two. Finally, I used the second set purchased to separate the combination threader/cleaner tools into two separate tools, the one from one set a threader, the other a bobbin cleaner. Not necessary, but just the way i prefer it. By the way, the very handy little 3.3" bobbins may end up being my favorite tools. Of course, if the seller doesn't offer these again, this review is worthless. However, I added my two-cents anyway.
