I really wanted to like this. It's everything I thought I was looking for in a comb. It's a Kent comb so you know it's not going to damage your hair, or in my case, my beard. However,its absolutely tiny! It's entirely too small to be effective in brushing anything but a toddler's hair. Not only that but the clip on the side, which is the main reason I bought this specific comb is utter garbage! I tossed this thing in the trash after a week of carrying it around in my pocket. The clip is too tight to slip over the pocket of jeans, khakis, or dress pants even. And if you try and actually use it to hold the comb in place on one of those 3 clothing articles it will pivot 90° and the clip will face completely away from the comb,making it utterly useless. I got it to successful clip onto one pair of khaki shorts and when I pulled it off it actually ripped my shorts coming off and the clip was facing 90°to the side. Utter garbage. I can't believe Kent actually tried to pass this off as a viable product. There isn't a single part of the design that works. It's by far the crappiest thing I've purchased on Amazon. Avoid like the plague. Its just a waste of money.

Looking back at my purchase, I see that I have had this comb for 3 years, almost to the day.It works well enough that I had purchased 3 more to keep as spares in my cars and shaving kit bag.The pocket clip on my original comb is still very sturdy, while on the 3 spares it has become slightly loose.They still work fine for clipping onto the pocket, just not quite as firm as my first one. I also saw that others have complained that the gold lettering had worn off. It wore off my comb almost immediately and I prefer it.It just looks better without the large brand name on it. All I know is when I have misplaced it (again), I get a little uptight. I use it quite a bit and it has held up very well.

Pretty dissatisfied with this comb. I wanted a folding comb that I could carry with me day in and day out. This certainly is not it and is not up for daily use. The comb portion itself is great. Enough teeth to comb my hair and style as I prefer. It has a classic look and is the perfect size to fit into a pocket or a travel bag.The major downside is that rivet that binds the two pieces together will come lose shortly after using. I spent maybe a month or two using it before it would simply close due to the slack between the pieces. For over $10, that is unacceptable. I'm fairly surprised at the number of positive reviews. Perhaps I had one that fell through quality control? Kent needs to add a very simple locking mechanism so that you are ensured it will stay open when you use it.Regardless, will not purchase again. If the comb won't stay open, what is the point?

I never had a folding comb before, but now I think I will always keep one on me. It is very sturdy and comfortable my pocket. It does not poke me or get bent in my pocket and when unfolded the length is just right to hold for combing either my hair or beard. The teeth are cut from the plastic so they don't bend or get out of alignment Very comfortable on my skin and scalp. Who knew a high quality comb would make such a difference? Well worth the cost, especially since I can probably keep it for years and years instead of buying and losing cheap combs over and over.

Kent makes the best combs, hands down. I bought this to use as my travel/pocket beard comb. I've never owned a Kent folding comb but knew based on experience that I couldn't go wrong, and I didn't.This comb is fantastic! The teeth are a match to those on the Kent FOT which is my other favorite comb. What that means is that it's intended for styling and it's perfect for styling the beard. Like all Kent combs, they do not snag, ever. The handle when open is awesome, very comfortable and I really like the extra purchase vs. the traditional no handle comb style. I am actually going to buy another to replace my at home FOT, it's that good. I wouldn't hesitate.

The rivet on the clip just lets the clip spin in place, so that's pointless and the comb would be better without it. I'd say this comb is also too short for me to have gotten use out of it - a bit of a surprise, but I guess I could have known that. Otherwise it's pretty much what you'd expect. Oh, and the gold lettering wears off quickly, if that matters to you.

Update: It's been 2 1/2 years since I bought this comb. Still have it, use it daily and is still perfect.

I just received this and have only used it a few times. My beard is getting kind of long, I guess like 2-3" or so, and this comb is overmatched. Quality seems very nice, the swing open action of the comb is very tight but it is the very beginning of its usage life so I'm sure it'll loosen up with time. I don't know how useful I will find it despite the convenience of it folding up and going right in your pocket, due to the fact that it's kind of small for a longer beard. Convenient, quality, but not for the courser or more scraggly.

Quality of this Kent 20T folding comb is good and will serve my requirements. The teeth of the comb is small in depth being 12mm per tooth, the total length of the row of teeth is 75mm. I have short hair so I will not have a problem, but those will thicker longer hair may find some difficulty. Those if any who have knotted hair may find that the comb may break at the swivel joint where the comb joins the handle, this being the weakest part of the comb. The overall length of the comb when open is 165mm and when closed is 92mm. This comb is ideal for us 70+ year old teddy boys who may still have the quiff and D.A.Overall the comb is worth having, folds away neatly whether for jacket/shirt breast pocket or front trouser pockets, not recommended for trouser rear pocket as sitting on it would I suspect cause it to break.

Not sure how this is handmade? It’s plastic and feels quite cheaply made, stiff to fold. Also, I thought it was like a flick mechanism but it’s simply just a folding comb. Bit of a let down. As a comb works fine, but I was expecting something a little more special. Think I’ll be returning it. *Or I would have, but seller doesn’t accept returns. Wish I’d known that before I wasted my money...

I had high hopes for this,but sadly mine fell apart after a few weeks of use.Maybe I just got a bad one but I found that the little brass rivet holding it together, had weakened after only a couple of uses and through time had worn to the point that the 2 parts separated.I have to say though, that the comb itself is very very good. I can see why people like them so much. They glide through the hair effortlessly and you genuinely can feel the difference due to the way the tips of the comb are polished. No split ends and doesn't scratch on your head. I just wish they were just a little more durable.

I can only assume I must have gotten a faulty one as it’s extremely stiff to fold in. Dissapointed as the comb itself is very good even if it’s a little on the small side (I recommend the large Kent Folding comb).As for people concerned about static issues relating to plastic comes, I’ve had no issue with this whatsoever while combing my beard. Hope Amazon resolves my faulty comb now.

The comb itself is fantastic. It's a Kent. What lets it down a bit is the pocket clip. As the comb is part of my camping kit, the only thing the pocket clip does is make it twice as thick and therefore take up more room. And I imagine that even if you kept it in your pocket, but didn't use the pocket clip, it would still be a negative. But if you want a pocket clip then it's five stars.
