Brilliant book!
Discovered lots of options for visiting places we would've otherwise not known about. Love the DK travel guides....better layout and content than Lonely Planet in my opinion.

See what Florida has to offer outside the big parks!
I love DK travel books and have used them for years going to Europe many times. Now I want to see every little gem in Florida on day trips or extended trips in the state I live. This book is a resourceful tool to see the sites outside of the theme parks in Orlando!

Good book with basic information
I traveled to Florida three times last year, each time to a different area of the state. I like doing my homework before my trips, and usually do all sorts of internet searches (as you can find everything on the internet). However, having a book that summarizes some of the key information of each area is helpful, especially if it is something you'd like to take with you on the airplane or to the beach. This DK Eyewitness Florida guide is a fairly compact book, and it's full of maps and colorful photographs. It is divided by the major areas of Florida, so it's easy to navigate. Keep in mind that the information provided is not extremely detailed, but enough for you to make a decision on whether a certain area is worth a visit. I have recently visited the St. Petersburg area, and the info provided in the book seems accurate, with the main attractions pointed out with some basic details. I wouldn't rely on the information presented in the book 100%, as the situation is fluid because of the covid pandemic. Certain restaurants and businesses may have different hours of operation or may not even be there by the time you travel. This is where the internet comes in so that you can verify the information. Overall, it's a well-made and informative book for those interested in exploring Florida, and I recommend it as a general guide to Florida travel.

Good intro book to the State but not enough details for each main city.
I am a fan of the "Eyewitness" series of travel books. I get one for almost every destination I planned to travel to and they have always been helpful in starting my research.I like those that cover only one city more than those like this one that covers a whole State. Florida is a big place with several large cities. Each is worth a book on its own.I like this book for several reasons.1. A good tool to start figuring out which cities you want to visit in Florida. It gives you highlights of the most popular tourist spots.2. Good quality paper and binding. It stays in good shape with frequent use.3. Contents organized by area so you can go directly to the destinations you plan to visit for more info. What I think it can do better:1. The itineraries are not that helpful. I'd prefer more details such as which sightseeing spots to visit (instead of just the general areas) and what food is unique to that area with a list of recommended restaurants.2. Due to the vast area covered in the book, each city is not very well covered. I have been to Jacksonville, St. Augustine, and Orlando Disney World. There are interesting places and things to do that are worth considering but not covered in the book. I understand there are not enough pages to cover them all. Even just a list without details would be helpful. The book consists of these sections.1. Discover - An overview of Florida State with 2 suggested itineraries, a 5-day that covers northern Florida and a 7-day that covers southern Florida.2. Experience Miami - Miami is apparently the biggest city in Florida which deserves having a whole section devoted to it.3. Experience Florida - This section covers the rest of Florida except Miami.4. Need To Know - Essential info for planning the trip, such as transportation, weather, local customs, etc.

Nice Guide
I really love these travel guides and I got this one because we might take a trip to FL in the near future. This book is nice because it is packed with information. The pages are kept thin so that it does not take up so much space for travel. The book is also a nice size to fit in a purse or backpack. It has tons of color photos as well as loads of info about things to do in Florida The pages are color coded on the edges so you can flip through and easily find things you are looking for.The cover is thicker and coated to protect the book. The front flap folds out and you could tuck things inside for safekeeping. The back flap is similar but includes a map printed on the inside cover and a bigger fold out map is attached. This is a great guide to have for travel and for planning. Thanks for reading my review
