Inexpensive...sort of feels that way too.
I only received this item yesterday and it was easy to set up. I tried it first without a battery yesterday before setting it up in my classroom. It works well and drew plenty of questions from my middle school students. This is a great item to mesmerize and soothe. I would recommend this for teachers that do not have students that MUST TOUCH. If they can look, then it will be great. I will try to update this post depending on the true durability including battery life.😁

Super fun!
I got this to model the movements of electrons around a nucleus for a student teaching project. It is so cute I've decided to leave it on my desk permanently! It doesn't make a lot of noise while moving and provided just enough of an attention grabber for the lesson!

Fun, interesting, poor online description.
Interesting novelty item. Easy to assemble, 11 year old grandson, put it together. He enjoyed looking at it playing with it.Online description was rather sketchy.Did not mention need for a battery. It is nice if a battery is included in battery operated items.Did not mention there is no switch to turn it on or off. Did not mention how long the battery might last. Not only did the online description failed to mention need for a battery and lack of a switch, but there were virtually no directions included with the product. No mention of the lack of a switch no mention of potential run time, etc. But, overall, I am satisfied that I got a good value.

For the price you pay a good quality product!
For the price you pay it’s a nice quality product. I don’t get those saying it’s overpriced and flimsy. Not at all! Don’t expect from a thing with that price quality of a $KKKKKK art piece duh. For those looking to buy it’s cool, again good quality, bright colors and it does work! At least mine does. You can always return it in case it’s damaged/not working, I guess.

Decent, but battery doesn't last
I got this and a similar item that appear to be from the same manufacturer. The battery in this lasts about half the time as the other, so it appears quality control is an issue. When it gets weak, the motion that used to be random has all the planets on the same plane which defeats the purpose. It's not bad for the price, and you may get one that lasts longer, but definitely consider rechargeable batteries as the workaround.

Glad I ignored the negative reviews
Took a chance despite all the bad reviews and I suppose I got lucky. This works perfectly, it doesn't drag on the bottom, it's not too noisy, and it's fun conversation piece. Everyone that comes into my office loves my new addition!
