Q: Where are these made? why isn't this critical information in the product page?

The main item description says "American Red Cedar". Early in the rest of the product description, "Eastern red cedar" is mentioned. The manufacturer's "Store" offers many other styles of cedar, metal, and plastic hangers with no implication of other than made in the US. In general, this vendor's marketing style and presentation is very American, not like a foreign ploy. HTH

Q: Do we need to sand these regularly if we are using this as a moth repellent/deterrent?

These cedar hangers barely had a scent when they were new. After more than a year of use, there is no smell at all. While sanding them may bring out some scent, unless you're hanging the clothes in a cedar closet, I'm not confident any scent emanating from the hanger would be strong enough to ward off moths.

Q: Are these hangers flat or contoured (slightly concave) above the bar?

I am not quite sure if I am answering this question properly, but I can give a basic accounting of the hangars I received. The bars are round, solid dowels and nicely straight. The hangar sides are absolutely flat, and the only portion I could call concave would be the slots as pictured for straps or hanging bands. The hangars are SOLID cedar, not veneer, with a VERY smooth but natural finish. It is safe to hang even my fine linen or silk jersey, but solid enough to handle leather coats and heavy sweaters. Because they are very flat, they actually allow me to fit more items in my closet. My husband hangs his entire suit ensemble on one hangar; belt, tie, pants, dress shirt, suit coat and kerchief. They seem to be very durable. Hopefully this answers the question for you.
