What is the easiest way to open/unlock the dispenser part?

If the dispenser is not unlocking by twisting the top counterclockwise, remove the pump from the bottle, rinse off excess soap and dry. Grip the shaft (the clear plastic part that houses the spring) while twisting the top counterclockwise until it unlocks. I used a towel to hold the shaft in place for better traction.
