Incredibly bright, strong flashlight--and perfect in case of invasion from outer space
Tough, tough, tough little flashlight--small enough to slip into a pocket, bright enough to be seen by space aliens (that is, if there really are space aliens--and if they need a guide light to land on planet Earth). I like the USB charger, but the input is small and a bit finicky. Fortunately, the light holds a charge for a long time, and a battery indicator tells you're running low on power.I don't use the strobe function. Maybe I'd need it if my car broke down along the highway. Otherwise, it's too much like a disco.I use this flashlight mainly to be seen while I'm walking my dog in the dark. Maybe a tactical flashlight for such routine duty is overkill, but I have a lot of respect for Pelican products (this is my third Pelican flashlight, and I use all of them regularly). The 7100 is excellent, well worth the price. And it's plenty sturdy to use as a weapon, if needed. We can't be sure the space aliens will come in peace.

I was surprised
My concerns of a flashlight named after an odd looking bird quickly vanished after holding this flashlight! The Pelican 7100 is build like a tank yet has an incredible feel (like a sports car). I was amazed at how bright it is and how far the light is projected out. Multiple settings with the highest one being so bright it hurts the eyes! I also find great value in that this flashlight also works with a single AA battery!!! In a pinch you can just drop in a double A battery and keep on going. I was so impressed with this light I ordered the larger 7600 Pelican. These are military grade flashlights that are built to last - the warranty of the Pelican was what won me over. You won’t be unhappy with the 7100, 1910 or 7600 Pelican lights.

Another Pelican light is a hit!
Small compact (can fit in front pocket) however extremely bright light. There's no dial in on brightness or focus, but a handy rechargeable wire is included with can fit most any cell phone or car charger. There is a dial which can be turned to protect the recharge plug from the elements on our in wet weather. It also has a handy belt clip which is made from a strong durable metal. Another well made Pelican product. I've been a fan for over 25 years!

Simple, great quality
solid quality, great size and ergonomics, clip is necessary for EDC, relatively high lumen, rechargeable, rugged, simple. Simple meaning 2 functions: focussed light and tactical strobe. Makes a great defensive tool on strobe; it will definitely disorient if directed at eyes. The way I see it, if someone's actin up and you have this torch on you, they're either being blinded or they're closing their eyes to avoid being blinded. Either way, you can make a move to fight or flight. I've dropped it on cement a bunch of times, still good to go.Cons: no zoom, i love a light that can zoom in or out for different objectives. no lumen adjustment, nice to be able to use less power and not have the unit heat up (it gets pretty hot after about a minute).

Last for about two weeks.
I truly enjoyed this flashlight. It puts out quite a bit of light for how small it is. I like the convenience of a MicroSD charger. THE FATAL ISSUE.... I've had two of them and both of them have broken within the first 14 days. I tested it with a third that was working to confirm that it was not the batteries and it isn't. The units just become defective and stop working. When you attempt to charge them no light indicators come on. I've even tried multiple different cables which still does not fix the issue. Wish they were a little more durable because I love the light.

Long term review. Love it
I bought this flashlight 3 years ago from here and it's still my favorite. I've had zero issues with it! Still very bright, battery last a good while, still charges as it should. I carry it in my snowmobile and temps get well below zero Fahrenheit. Still works as should. I carry it in my boat in the summer in the glove box 100+ degrees, still works great. It's super rugged and I'm very happy with it. It's my daily carry flashlight.

Product is amazing! Super bright! Only problem is the battery life doesn’t last to long. But other then that love it!

Wicked bright!
Got this flashlight for my son for Christmas. He absolutely loves it, and has it on him all the time. Small enough to fit in his front pants pocket and not be annoying, but I also got the belt holster, and he sometimes uses that. He tested it at night on our road - a dirt road in the middle of the woods - and the flashlight was brighter, and reached farther, than the high beams on his car. It easily illuminates the trees along the back of our pasture, which are at least 300 feet away.
