Not as bright as expected
Very good quality lights and the warrant is outstanding. However, not as bright as I expected them to be. I do like that the pattern is a flood+spot hybrid, but they are not like true spot beams at all. Not much reach to speak of. They do augment the low beams on my CR-V to a degree that whitens up the H4 halogens and illuminates more of what is on the side of the road that the main low beams don't.They fall somewhere between the low beams and high beams as mounted to the top of my front bumper. I like the way that they fill in the dead zone below my high beams. They don't have the kind of distance that I thought they would have, but DO illuminate road signs and reflective road features very, very well. The backlight could be much brighter.If you are looking to run these as DTRLs with the backlight, you will be very disappointed. The backlights are just barely visible at night. They are not visible at all during the day time, even on an overcast day. If you are getting these lights and don't care about the backlight feature, don't even bother connecting the white backlight wires.Overall, I feel like I could have spent less money for the same performance. To be fair, I would say that the lower cost lights are probably not the same quality.

Brighter than I thought!
These are some very sturdy, ruggedly built lights! Easy to install and aim. The main light is very bright, more like a wide flood. Distance in not its strong suit but better than most low beams. I was impressed. The black light is kind of weak. I was expecting more of a DRL I guess. Ordered the Rigid wiring harness for the Pods. Does not come with Deutsch DT terminal ends, just bare wire on both the Pods and the wiring harness. Installed some 3 pin Deutsch connectors on both ends. Works flawlessly. For that and the weak back light feature, only 4 stars.
