I've tried the other rug vendors and rugs are cheaper, but they look like remnants of wall-to-wall carpeting (polyester, cheap) with sewed edges. This rug is the real deal - a handmade rug and it's thick and comfortable. I've only had it a week, but it rolled out with a bit of a curl and now lies flat, and the rug smelled slightly the first few days but now seems almost odorless. Others here note the colors are muted and that's what I wanted. Also, in the photo, you'll see that the design is clear and not artificially "distressed" as in machine-made rugs. Lastly, I don't see any shedding, but I will be careful to set my vacuum to "high pile" to start so I don't damage the rug. Great buy.

I too am experiencing the extreme “shedding “ from the rug. A handful each day. It’s beautiful rug, but this has we worried.

We had already purchased and 8 x 10 rug in this pattern/color. The 4 x 6 color matched perfectly. Also, we were able to go into our shopping history and find the stock number for the 8 x 10, which meant we did not have to spend time searching for the matching 4 x 6 rug. It was delivered in just a few days. The protective plastic that they use for shipping is really durable and keeps the rug in perfect condition. We would never buy a rug anywhere else than from Amazon because of our great experience with these rugs.

Wow, this is the second small size "sample" I purchased from Safavieh, and I can tell you that their pictures are really off on the colors. This one is a medium mouse grey. Not blue, not aqua. Grey in the middle and the edges. Not what I was hoping for, but I can always use a pretty little rug (2' x 3') anywhere. That being said, I really like these rugs. I bought a different 2x3', and liked the colors, even though they were also very different than the pictures. I ordered the biggest size, and really am pleased. Thick and soft, with really pretty design and detail. I don't think it sheds any more than a typical new rug or carpet. Unless you want to possibly return a 100+ lb. rug, I strongly suggest you order a small size first, to check the colors in your house!

First of all, let me state that I did had a very high impression of this area rug after reading some of the reviews here. And that was a main reason I purchased this rug and with the price, I think it is reasonable. The rug arrived earlier than it was promised and that is mostly expected coming from Amazon. I rated a plus for delivery. The rug is about 1/2 inch thick and so walking on it felt very nice. The color of the rug came out as the advertised photo. The aqua color did mayched with my general dining room decor and so I am very satisfied. I rated a 4 star just because I am picky on the design where it the design shape is not sharp, i.e., boundary of the design is not sharp. However, overall, the rug is ecellent and very nice.

This is the second one of these rugs I’ve purchased. I liked the first so well for the family room that I purchased another for our dining room. Others have commented that the blue is really grey. It doesn’t look that way in our home - it’s a soft medium blue and the beige and camel accents are lovely.

I looked at so many rugs before finally settling on this one. I'm so glad I chose it. It looks beautiful in the room and it's so thick and heavy. it weighs twice as much as the non-wool rugs I was looking at.

After first getting this I said, "Gorgeous rug! Excellent quality. Great value. Highly recommended." BOY, WAS I WRONG - and here I am, eating crow. Unlike some others, I liked the look of the rug, so I wrote my review based on looks.Within a few WEEKS, it wouldn't lay flat. It was not in a heavy traffic area. In a month or so r so, it started shedding. Within a few MONTHS, yarn tufts stated coming out in areas of the rug and around the edges. NOW THE RUG HAS A COMPLETELY BALD spot about 2"x2" and it's working on others. We finally rolled it up. I tried to return it but my month to do that was over, so what do I do besides change my review? I FLUSHED $252.00 DOWN THE TOILET for a 5'x8' rug that is useless.Beauty is in the eye of the beholder but quality isn't and neither is false advertising. Now that I have a hole to look through, I can see this is not tufted, it is glued to a fabric background. I will never ever buy a rug online again, especially from this seller.I can't use it. I can't return it. Buy rugs from a brick and mortar store front that stand behind their products. This was an expensive lesson. The only positive thing about it was that I don't buy a larger, more expensive rug. Beware!If I'm able, I will post some photos...
