RP198A Volume Pot 500 OHM Potentiometer

At one end of the range, the resistance jumps suddenly froma low value (as expected) to infinite ohms. My connections aresoldered and I used two different meters to verify this behavior.I have 2 years as a EE major. And I spent 1 year working forTexas Instruments.This item is apparently manufacturedwith poor tolerances and ineffective quality control.I suggest you look elsewhere for a pot.

It's a 500K Ohm pot, very different from a 500 Ohm pot. I'd already soldered on it so I threw it away.
