Definitely helps with the small "brown-outs"/power fluctuations.
Before getting this, my UPS would constantly be triggered for the smallest of power fluctuations. I don't know what causes it still... Power company? Solar panels? I don't know but I do know that since I installed this line conditioner, my UPS is not setting off any alarms.Just a bit more info: all the UPS triggers or maybe just age but it got to the point where I had to switch around my UPSs and eventually just changed out the battery. Back to normal with this line conditioner inline. I don't think this particular UPS is more than a year old but I had to switch out its battery to work properly again. The UPS with the line conditioner is about 2-3 years old and works fine....

Product is great - The way it gets shipped needs evaluation
5 Stars BUT..... The way it was shipped needs a major improvement. It is a very heavy item. It was shipped in the original manufacturing box. Very little protection and arrived damaged (looks like it was dropped). The tab for mounting to the rack was bent. The device works very well. I ended up bending the side back (with difficulty) and was able to get it installed. I did not have the time to return the product unless it didn't work after install. Amazon over packs everything except in this case a very expensive, fragile, electronic item was left naked.02-04-17 Update - Today this unit paid for itself!!! We were having fluctuations in power this morning in the house. Two weeks ago we dropped one leg of power to the house which had been fixed. Today's event was the opposite side of the house (including outlets that the line conditioner was plugged into). The unit was indicating "very low" input. The electric company was out and confirmed we had dropped the second leg. Temporary power was run to our house from the neighbors and this unit indicated "normal". As I said, it just paid for itself today. I will be buying a second one to cover the balance of my electronics. I still maintain the 5 stars.

20 amp outlets not working
I intended to use this for a sound reinforcement system. Turned it on to be sure it powered up, but foolishly did not check the outlets. Installed in sound system rack with everything plugged in, and at the job all the 15 amp outlets worked okay, but the 20 amp higher filtered outlets produced no power. I am going to buy a second unit after sending this back, hopefully I can update this review with better news and I was just the unfortunate one who got a dud.

great
We have power issues at our office. Sometimes lights go dim for several minutes on end. Rarely do we have a power failure, but we have very "saggy" power. This device compensates for it perfectly. We have 4 non-critical servers connected to it. We did not want to go to the expense of a UPS because everything connected to this line conditioner is not of extreme importance. Our mission-critical servers are maintained by an off-site managed hosting company.I'd also add that this is one of the few electronic devices that I've encountered that actually has wiring (12 gauge) that matches its advertised capacity. There are so many devices (vacuum cleaners, air compressors) with ridiculous labels like "10 amp" or "5 HP" that have wiring that would cause fires if such labels were true. This device has the wiring capable of sustaining its advertised and intended load (2400W / 120V = 20A which requires 12AWG wire).

Not good for home theater application.
This unit appears to be built well and probably performs well. It emits a 60Hz hum which can be clearly heard in the room. If you can install this in an equipment closet separate from your home theater or home studio, it should be fine. Just not in the same room.

Didn’t stand against dirty power
Did not get what I was expected to get from a dirty generator power.

Quality device, with a "hum"
This is built like a brick. I perceive that it offers decent and reliable protection, at a good price, for my sensitive electronic equipment, fed by a 20a line. If you are reading these reviews, and considering an application involving music recording and high quality home theater, you will have read about the "hum". The TL company claims that it does not exist, and are willing to exchange any huming device for another or repair if you have a hum. No, I do not intend to send this back to TL. I perceive that it is working as it was intended and designed. But there is a hum. How serious is the hum? If you are using very high quality home theater, perhaps an issue, but probably now an issue as long as there is sound playing If you are recording music with good quality mics and preamps, and a very clean signal, then maybe an issue. If you are very sensitive for low level electric transformer type hum, then maybe an issue. For me, I think that I can accept this. For me, quality protection at a reasonable price. I wish however that the company would just admit that this is a hum, and stop denying this! I also wish that the hum were not there.

A little added insurance
I have one of these mounted on each of my 3 server racks in at work. I install this power conditioner before the UPS units and IP addressable PDUs so that everything is protected. I can say that the one located in my office has been here for at least 5 years and it goes crazy every time there is a wind or lightning storm... leading me to believe it's doing it job. Maybe there's a version that does this, but a built-in NIC card for email notifications would be nice, however I get those notifications from the UPS units anyway so it's not a big deal.
