Bought a new car, well new to me but second hand. It looked pretty clean when I picked it up, but on closer inspection it had been only superficially cleaned. The worst areas were the alloys. The face of the wheels were not too bad, but behind the spokes (the barrel of the wheel) was solid black and the caked on grime just laughed at my feeble attempts to pressure wash and shampoo it off. So I bought this and it did the trick and shifted around 95% of the grime. During and after shots are included (no before shot, but the alloys were pretty dirty and you know what a dirty alloy wheel looks like right?). I found a few tricks using this. Firstly it works best sprayed on a dry wheel. Don't wet it first. Leave at least 5 minutes and then get a wheel brush and get jiggy and agitating it. This stuff is good, but for really baked on dust you are going to have to work it hard with a brush it will not lift it without physical action. Secondly, be careful and don't get it on your skin. It is not caustic and will not burn, but it will dry your skin out very quickly, so wear gloves or barrier cream. Thirdly, it does not smell of mango, unless there is a vareity of mango which would kill you with one taste. The stuff smells strong and noxious but it can only work if it causes a chemical reaction stronger than the oxidation of the iron which is keeping the dust stuck on your wheels, so the bad smell is a reminder of the job it has to do. Although it is a spray it is quite viscous once the wheels and does a good job of clinging. The purple dye activates once the reaction is underway and you will get purple and violet oozing down showing you it is working. So it smells like Satan's cologne, but if you want your wheels to smell nice, use this first, then rinse it away and then spray your tyres with fabreze. I gave it 4 stars simply because of the cost. I had to use liberal amounts, but one bottle did the 4 wheels with another left over for another wheel. But you won't have to do this very often and if you look after your wheels once they are clean (washing weekly or fortnightly), you won't get the build up again and will probably only have to apply this once or twice a year to keep on top of iron fallout contamination. Make sure you have a strong hose or ideally a pressure washer to rinse it off, if it dries before you can rinse it you will have big problems.
