Now My Best EDC Folding Knife
Hello All,This is my review of the Cold Steel Voyager Large Drop Point Knife. ASIN: B09DLCM3V8. Purchased price $40.05.Out of all my other knives in my collection, this is now my favorite EDC knife. This is considered a large knife with a 4 inch blade so it may be too large for some peeps.I am an electrician by trade yet can do most all of the construction trades. To carry a knife at all times is a MUST!This is my first CS Large Voyager. I have the XL Voyager DP and many other CS 3.5" blade lengths and under. The grip is what makes it my favorite now, along with the 4" drop point blade. I didn't like the look of the texture at first, though it's starting to grow on me. The feel of a good non slip texture is better then looking at a nice texture that slips. This knife is super comfortable in my hands, left or right. The spacing of the finger choils is what makes it stand out from the others. The texture of the Griv-Ex handle is not too aggressive and there are no hot spots for either hand at any grip type or tightness. The Tri-Ad lock has a solid snap sound CS is known for. A sound that tells the user it is locked and ready for hard use.The jimping on the back of the blade is nice, with a perfect length for the thumb or pointer finger. The jimping, on the scales, are right above the pivot. The one thing that i didn't care for and could have lived with, were the 3 points on the grip that i point out in one of the photos with red arrows. These were a little too pointed for my personal preference. So i touched them up a bit, giving them a lot more rounded profile. I may add the jimping on the lock bar above the pivot and add a finger choil where the blade and handle meet. I need to verify the placement of the closed stop pin first. I'll also grind the spine to have a full 90 angle for ferro rod or wood fluff use when needed.I did polish the surface area of the lock bar that rides along the blade tang. There was a distinct slight grinding felt when i slowly thumb rolled blade open. It is as smooth as ever now. The blade centering was spot on from the factory. As with many other CS folding knife pocket clips, i had the same grabby pants issue. I fixed this by placing short 120 grit sandpaper pieces under the clip, rough side on scales, then slowly pulling out sandpaper. I've done this many times until the Griv-Ex surface under clip was smooth. No damage to surrounding surface of scales around the clip to keep the textured look.If you're on the fence, wait for a sale. If i would have know how good this knife turned out to be, i would have paid full price. I'm looking to get another but 'll wait for another bargain since i have one already ;-).Best wishes, Njoy Life...

You really can't beat it at this price!
AUS10 ISN'T junk steel. It's comparable to a mildly tweaked 440C (which is still fantastic, newbies)!THEN...DEMKO'S TRIAD LOCK......which is still the best lock on the market. Just watch; when the patent runs out, EVERY company will be using it (just like the 'crossbar lock'... Benchmade's Axis.ABSOLUTELY WORTH EVERY PENNY, EVEN WITHOUT LYNN...for now.

Good Knife
This is a good knife to cut boxes or rope. It is a big knife but is not huge. I believe it is definitely worth the money. I did have to sharpen it. It has kept its edge. I would buy this as a gift for a family member or friend.

Durable and reliable.
It holds up well to harder uses. The steel is well heat treated and it isn't complicated to maintain it with a pocket hone setup. Definitely a knife I would recommend to the outdoors man or woman .

A bit big, but all around a good "Pocket Knife"
I bought this to use as an EDC knife, and I am very happy with it. Easy to open and close with one hand. Takes and holds a very sharp edge, and easy to sharpen. Many do not like how rough the handles are, some complain that if you use the clip, it will tear up your pants. So don't use the clip, since it does not have a pocket deployable plate or stud. Or take the clip off and sand down the handle a bit. In the end I really like how this knife carries in the pocket, and how it fits my hand. If your looking for a bigger EDC knife, look into this one.
