It is also the first of a duo, so WHITE NIGHTS end with a cliff, but the second and concluding novel of the duo, Midnight Days, is already published! Readers can’t help but get caught up in the complex and compelling plotlines and become invested in characters so multifaceted and fascinating, it becomes difficult to answer the call of reality when it intrudes. Alex is tall, dark and handsome, he meets Kate in the ER where she's on shift, taking care of his body guard. He's immediately interested and wants her, says so. She turns him down. Now the chase is on. He convinced her, then things move quickly. Danger is on the horizon. He risks her away for her safety. Spoiler alert... cliffhanger.

It's a little slow after their initial time together but it picks up the pace nicely after things get ironed out between them. I'm enjoying the dialogue inside Catherine's head. She's thrown into a world she doesn't belong or want to belong too. Never mind the cultural differences but the fact he's a man that is a Russian mafia man who is incredibly rich might be a bit overwhelming! However its a very steamy read and these two light a all consuming fire that will not be extinguished. It ends in a cliffhanger, of course, and now comes the intrigue!. You won't be disappointed with this one! 💥😍

Anna Zaires and Charmaine Pauls teamed up for this duet about a Russian Oligarch and an American ER nurse working at Coney Island Hospital. Alex Volkov, handsome, incredibly wealthy through his own hardwork, considered a player and much sought after by women, but definitely a workaholic. Kate Morrell, ER nurse, raised by single parent father unknown, hardworking, dedicated to her profession and very skilled at it, beautiful, loyal, naive, recently broke up with cheating ex boyfriend. Alex is surrounded and involved with very deadly businessmen as well as criminal oriented individuals which puts him and everyone he is involved with in very dangerous situations. Story starts off when he is the target for an assassination but his bodyguard takes the bullet where he encounters Kate who saves is guards life. So much happens after that between Kate and Alex who are immediately drawn to each other. Book One ends in a cliffhanger but good news Book Two Midnight Days is already out so happily I will start on that to see how it all plays out. I love to read crime family books and these two authors definitely are dynamite together. Totally recommend!

Amazing. The minute I read this blurb I knew I had to have this book. Anna and Charmaine together write seamlessly as they immerse you into this lavish yet brutal world. Alex is a Russian oil zillionaire. A tall and dangerous sexy criminal who has more money than God himself. He leads a dark and dangerous life and crosses paths with a little nurse when his bodyguard gets shot. This hit gone wrong pulls Kate into a world she can't even begin to understand. Can she handle the danger and mounting unanswered questions? Will all his money and power be enough to keep her safe? She is his one weakness and they are coming for her.I was blown away by this book. We have seen this pairing before with Anna and Charmaine but wow! The world and these characters were phenomenal. The scenes and sexual tension were off the charts. You can't help but devour this book. I couldn't put it down. I am utterly obsessed with Alex and voting for Yuri to get his own book. Now I need answers. I need to know what happens next.

Usually I don’t write reviews for books I didn’t like but I paid for this book and it was a let down. The whole book is practically a cat and mouse game, Kate is constantly finding reasons to not be with Alex for the whole story. Maybe it’d be more understandable if her character was developed more and we were given a more in depth backstory and character formulation. In fact, all of the characters seemed very surface level with little to no back story or complexity. The storyline was almost nonexistent and then there’s a cliff hanger and I don’t even feel excited or compelled to read the next installment. Kate is hard to like, hard to grasp, and doesn’t seem all that relatable. Alex is faceless, I have no image in my mind of who he is as a person. So many times, the narrative brushes over issues that realistically would be experienced differently- even in fiction novels! I gave it three stars because it was just good enough to finish the book but it was a challenge. If I had DNFed it’d be a 2 star and I never like giving bad reviews. I understand this genre tends to lean toward preposterous, shallow storylines with lots of spice (and I love spice) but this one was somehow disappointing even with the low expectations. I’m genuinely sorry for this review, but it was really disappointing. I was kind of shocked.

Anna Zaire is a very good writer; her story is very good!

What a whirlwind, I'm loving the FH backbone though. Can't wait to see how it finishes in book 2.Ends in a cliffhanger.

Najaaaaaa……. Die Geschichte an sich ist nichts herausragend…… gut und flüssig geschrieben….. heisse Sex Szenen….. das war’s …..Eine solide Story die mich leider nicht packen konnte….. schade…..
