Convenient and flavorful chutney
This Spice Story Not Just Bombay Sandwich Chutney is tasty! My favorite chutneys are made with cilantro and mint, like this one. They're all a little different, some spicy, some chunky. This one is fairly smooth and mild. There's a lot of flavor but not too much heat. This is definitely a great dip for samosas or dosas, but you could use it for all sorts of foods. It's not a huge bottle, and you'll likely find many more options in your local Indian grocery store. For convenience, this is a wonderful and delicious option.

Sandwich Chutney: Smooth and Only Mildly Spicy
Although I've never heard of this Indian green sauce referred to as "sandwich chutney" (more below), I know that this mildly spicy sauce tastes more or less like the side sauce I get in Indian restaurants. It's good enough to use as a condiment for a variety of dishes. It is a smooth rather than chunky chutney, and it tastes of fresh coriander leaves (cilantro) and mint, with only a hint of tamarind. I find it a little too salty for my tastes, but that salt does help season whatever you serve with this.As a side note: I found it nearly impossible to remove the inner seal by peeling back the tabs and had to resort to piercing it with a sharp knife. Even then, I couldn't get it fully removed. Since it squeezes through a small opening in the top, leaving some of the seal still around the rim doesn't matter.I had to look up what a Bombay chutney sandwich is, and it turns out that despite not being found in American restaurants, it's an Indian staple in that region. It's a white bread sandwich made of tomatoes, cucumbers, and other vegetables seasoned with this sauce (think of sandwich chutney instead of mustard or mayo) and other spices. Although I have yet to try this chutney in that manner, I've decided to try it one day with I have the ingredients in my kitchen. In the meantime, it's great as a condiment for naan or used on top of grilled chicken.-- Debbie Lee Wesselmann

Hooray for the green sauce!
I had to move away from my favorite Indian restaurant several years ago. This tastes just like what I lovingly called “the green sauce” which they served with naan. The flavor brought back wonderful memories on my open face sandwich.I will now be looking up a recipe for naan for the complete experience. Happy to have found a way to still enjoy the “green sauce” delivered to my house👍

Nice kick of spices for an unusual sandwich
This is a nice kick of flavor and spices to add to a sandwich. It's definitely 'chutney'-like, with a variety of flavors in there, and has a kick of spice from the chiles. I've been adding it to otherwise bland sandwiches (e.g., cheese and lettuce), and it really makes an otherwise ho-hum meal interesting.

Smooth texture for easy dispensing/use; nice flavor, but could have a bit more spice
Overall I'm mostly pleased with this sandwich chutney. The texture is quite smooth, making it easy to use on sandwiches (or pretty much anything else). It comes in a plastic squeeze bottle making it mess-free to dispense. The flavor is pretty good but quite mild. While I don't care for the fiery hot chutneys, this is so mild that it's almost bland. However, for those in the household who are not fans of spicy condiments, this hit the mark very well for both spice level and flavor. It needs to be refrigerated after opening, but even when cold it dispenses pretty easily and smoothly. It is made in India. Not perfect, but a pretty good mild chutney. Four stars.

Surprising Taste
I would have never thought to buy this but the taste is perfect. It has a light taste but enough if you prefer a sauce. I like the bottle and how versatile this is. It is not spicy and has a perfect blend of flavors in it.

Never Had This Before. Nice Interesting Flavor, Mild But Tasty, Lot Of Potential Uses
I've never had Chutney that I can recall unless it was an ingredient buried in a sandwich I purchased somewhere and I didn't realize it. It tastes pretty much like you would expect it to taste after looking at the ingredients if the ingredients were well balanced and they are. It's a bit savory, a bit of a faint mint taste and you get hints of garlic and the other ingredients. Though I like it, I don't like it or find it unique enough to spend $12.50 on a little 7 ounce bottle of this stuff. It would be good on anything from a corned beef sandwich to hot ham and cheese. The version I got is quite mellow and not spicy at all.
