Les Miserables: Instrumental Solos for Violin

I love Les Mis and as a violinist, was excited to find the music! I only gave this 4 stars because it arrived bent in the package. Otherwise, highly recommend. Yes, like others have said, it would be very nice to have the words with the music, but as the violin sheet music with lyrics doesn't seem to exist, I've considered writing these in myself!

I really like this collection. It's not intermediate, I don't think. It's pretty simple. I would describe it as a beginner's collection, but for the lover of Les Miserables, this is a collection well-worth having. These would be nice recital pieces for a student who's been playing for about a year. Even more lovely would be the beginner who has mastered vibrato and can play some of the more soulful pieces like, "Bring Him Home". No matter what, if you've been playing for about six months to a year, some of or even all of these pieces are feasible. Nothing like playing what you love.

I have the piano easy and regular version of this book. I also grew up with these songs. I know them by heart. I like the format of these pieces in the violin version as they are all only on one page (no page turning) no piano part in this book. I wasn't expecting it to have it. what I expected and hoped it to have was the words. There are no words in this book. just the music. oh well. if it had words.. I would have given it a 5 star rating.

This is an amazing product! High quality! I personally wish that they included the lyrics, but this book of music is awesome! I highly recommend this, especially for les miserables fans that love (and preferably play) the violin.

For the price, this is perfect! I love the Les Mis soundtrack, and I am incredibly excited to start playing it myself. My only worry is that it is NOT FOR BEGINNERS--some pieces are in simple keys, but several range to Gb major. For example, "I Dreamed a Dream" is in F major, but "Empty Chairs at Empty Tables" is in Db major. It also doesn't have the lyrics with the music.

Bought this for my daughter-in-law, who wants to revive her violin skills and loves Les Mis. I can't really give a review yet, because her violin is "in the shop". The book had a nice, heavy glossy cover, and the music looks cleanly printed, etc. She's looking forward to trying it out.

I bought this shortly after seeing the movie for the first time, and haven't been disappointed. I've had a lot of fun playing the songs. As a beginning violinist, I appreciate that the songs are of varying difficulties. So even though some of the songs are too difficult for me at this point, there's still several that are within my abilities.

I really liked it, the notes are great for a beginner/intermediate level (I said beginner but you must know how to play using the 4 finger notes). The notes are big so it is easy to read. I would have liked it to have more songs but for the price it is ok.

I love the musical and having the sheet music I can play the music whenever I like. A shame it came with no piano music for my teacher.

Pour 14 morceaux, le prix est plus que correct. J'ai cherché des accompagnements audio sur le net et trouvé, restent quelques transpositions à faire et le tour est joué.Les niveaux sont variables avec tout de même pas mal de changements de tonalités en cours de morceaux, ce qui demande un minimum de pratique de l'instrument. Je suis satisfaite de mon achat, merci.
