I bought this item in order to have a bath towel that is lightweight and dries itself quickly, but also absorbs water as a normal bath towel. I realized after buying it that this is actually a beach towel. I figured I can still use it in the bathroom, or when traveling, or as a sofa banket or even as a shawl for me in Spring/Fall.I have yet to try it on the sand, so I cannot speak about its ability to repel sand. However, I used it as a blanket on the sofa while reading a book and it DOES keep me warm despite being very light and apparently flimsy, so that was a great plus. I am definitely going to bring it with me when I travel because it looks like it can be adapted to a fairly wide variety of uses.I also tried it in the bathroom: it dried itself much quickly compared to regular towels (I literally put it side by side and the Turkish Cotton towel was almost completely dry while the other towel was still noticeably wet). Now, since it was NOT made explicitly for the bathroom, it may feel a bit rough on the skin, as its texture is more akin to beach towels. Personally I do not mind it in the slightest. If I want the luxurious, "cloud-soft" experience, I don a bathrobe. The only downside for me is that it seems not to absorb as much water as a regular bath towel. However, as I said, it is a beach towel first and foremost. Overall I am happy with my purchase given all the various uses that it can fulfill.

These are great I am a big guy at 6’5” 300lbs and was very skeptical that one of these would do the trick. I was pleasantly surprised, and I appreciate how great these towels work. The color and the pattern are great as well. I am truly grateful at how quick these towels absorb all the water. It is a blessing, as I am usually in a rush to get toweled after the gym and get back to my office. Also the fact that the towel doesn’t feel double or triple the weight when your done with it is great too!

I bought these Turkish towels to use as pool towels. Upon receiving them, I questioned whether or not they were thick enough to dry off with as they are super thin. Amazingly, these towels are more absorbent than my thick bath towels and very large pool towels. My (former) pool towels took up a lot of storage space. These Turkish towels are so thin and use very little storage space. Folded and stored, 12 of these towels take up the space of ONE of my former pool towels. I can not recommend these Turkish Beach Towels highly enough. A+++

These are very thin and soft to lay on. I would not necessarily use them to dry off but are good for lounging on the beach or by the pool. Easy to shake off sand! Wash easy and dry quickly.

These are great for the beach. They pack up small, they're absorbent, dry quickly, sand shakes off easily, and they're cute!

I wish I had paid closer attention to those photos. The black, while doesn't look like a true black in the photo, it's not at all black in real life. It's a dark grey. Also the fringe is exactly as crappy as it looks like the photo. This towel is soft, I'll give it that, but it is thin and cheap looking.

I loved the towel itself. I was disappointed when I received the wrong color and there was no hidden storage pouch to put cell phone, cash, etc. However, they did offer to replace item if I dropped off return at UPS. Unfortunately, replacement order would not have arrived in time for my vacation so I just kept what I received. Towels are very absorbent and so light weight and big enough to wrap around your body . They didn’t take up much space in my luggage. I placed one on top of the other and rolled them up. Easy as could be, and didn’t add much weight to my luggage max. Would buy again. Be sure to pay attention to laundry instructions when washing towels. No fabric softener or dryer sheets. They lose their absorbency if you do. Also air dry, but they dry quickly. Love them!

These are great towels for the beach . Not your typical towel . Dries faster, doesn’t hold the sand and they are cute

Just a great pair of beach towels! They are lightweight, don’t take much space, absorb the moisture quickly, and so easy to clean the sand off!

Super lightweight, nice large size and folds easily into a small bundle for carrying. Great value for a 2 pack! Love these!

I don't really like the tassels, but I just tied the thread into a smaller knot for washing purposes

Thinner than my other large Turkish bath towels so dries quicker.
