Superb Dash Cams! Awesome Price!!
Boy, am I simply loving this stylish dual dash camera set! Not only are they gorgeously petit and nearly unnoticeable, but they truly enhance my overall driving experience from their silent existence alone. The 4K specs makes them top of the line cameras, but once you get a taste of their visual brilliance and modern technology, you won’t want to drive again without their intellectual presence guarding your valuable surroundings on the road. They gift me built in wifi access, that pairs with my cellular phone’s network effortlessly. It also gives me great GPS and microSD Card for memory storage. FYI - although the setup did include a 32gb memory card, I elected to purchase a new one with a larger memory capacity’ even though my setup has loop recording capability (And yes, Amazon has the best prices for those too!).The clarity of the playback from this system is simply spectacular, as I’m never left unsatisfied by the pure quality. The parking mode is a saving grace as well, so even when I’m not anywhere near my ‘baby’, when I return, I am promptly alerted of any ‘events’ that may have occurred whist I was away; digital recording included.Another FYI - I also purchased a BlackVue Power Magic Ultra battery so I wouldn’t need to hardwire my setup to my car battery. I could go on and on, as there are too many features to discuss. But, with all of that, I was still able to lesson the major dent to my pocketbook, as I bought my entire setup gentle used from the Amazon site.So long as it’s shipped from Amazon itself, I can honestly say I’ve never been left disappointed by any of my high end purchases! This one was no different.

Overpriced, buggy, and constant nags in the app
The camera hardware itself is subpar: Image quality is worse than similarly priced competitors, e.g., U1000, and even worse than many cheaper competitors, e.g. A129. But the camera does okay in hot environments, and it has a unique shape that sometimes fits well where other cameras would not.HOWEVER, where the camera really fails is the app. The app feels like one of those awful pay-to-play mobile games that repeatedly harass you to spend more money and click on stuff. Here are some of the lowlights:* The app constantly complains unless you create a BlackVue account and stay logged in to use your camera. They recently updated the app to add a half-baked temporary "guest mode," but it's buggy and hard to use. There is no way to disable the repeated login popups or permanently set the app into guest mode.* The app has tons of full-screen pop-ups that nag you to upgrade to their expensive subscription cloud plan. Just about every page on the app has some sort of nag about some useless subscription cloud feature. There is no way to permanently disable nags, and no way to hide the useless cloud "features."* The app has pages and pages of a feed of random peoples' dashcam recordings, like a second-rate youtube. No way to disable any of this stuff, no way to stop it from wasting your bandwidth. See attached photo.* [HUGE PRIVACY ISSUE] The app now has all this social media sharing stuff that can upload your recordings to the internet for everyone else to see. The app is very opaque on how and when your stuff can get uploaded, and there is no option to completely disable all sharing app-wide.On top of the constant nags, the app is super buggy. Whenever you do try to use the one or two features that are actually useful, 75% of the time it will crash or hang. Some examples:* Something as simple as trying to view my camera footage repeatedly crashes the app. The app will get through one or maybe two videos, then randomly hang and show a spinner and hangs until I force-close and restart the app. That does not inspire confidence if you were trying to show the footage to a cop on the scene.* The app crashes or refuses to work unless you have an internet connection. What if you were in an accident in a rural area and needed to access your recordings? Tough luck. Supposedly, Blackvue has issued an update to fix this issue, but it still happens: When there is no internet connection, the app still lags and crashes much more frequently.* The app is so buggy that I have no idea what videos of mine have been uploaded to their social media feeds: Whenever I try to see what stuff of mine (if any) has been uploaded, the app crashes. I have no idea what it is doing. Not a good sign.* The app crashes when you try to change camera settings. Since the camera has no LCD, the app is the only way to change settings. If the app crashes, your camera is useless. Better hope you don't want to change anything! Blackvue recently released an update to try to fix this, but it still happens to me.* Every time the app crashes, you have to start from scratch getting through all the nags and popups and connection problems. Something that should take 5 seconds ends up taking 60.UPSHOT: The awful app and subpar image quality was too much for me. I ripped this out of my car and installed something different.

Not perfect, but close.
I have had this camera for almost a year and really like it. I'd probably give it a 4.5 star review if that was possible since there are a few minor complaints. First of all, I would definitely buy this camera (or an updated model of this camera) again for a future vehicle.Positives:- Sleek, clean design that looks like it belongs in the vehicle. especially if you have a nicer car or just don't want an unsightly camera in the middle of your window, this camera can be installed cleanly and just looks professional. I have one of those bulky shrouds around the rear-view mirror with the sensors for wiper blades, and radar for adaptive cruise control. I was able to place the camera in front of that and run the wiring under the shroud and headliner so it looks supper clean.-no LCD screen staring you in the face while you are driving, especially at night.-Good quality image-GPS tracking for location and speed-Parking mode. This works pretty nice, but for longer duration an extra battery for the camera is required (I'd guess anything over 3 hours based on my experience). Also, I'm not sure it will pickup smaller impacts like door dings. Though the time-laps could still prove helpful for those situations (which is always recording a time-laps during parking mode).-Being able to download video clips over WiFi on my phone, even from the second floor of my house while the car is in the garage.Minor complaints:-The WiFi has some glitches. Other reviews also complain about this issue. For me, it always works on the 2nd try. For some reason I can never download videos on the first try, I need to log off and connect to the camera a 2nd time, and then it always works. All the software is up to date, so don't know what this is about, but it's a minor complaint overall. Hopefully you will not need to download videos regularly...-The image quality is good, but I'm surprised how difficult it is to read license plates of vehicles from footage while driving. If you look at footage standing still at a traffic light, it's easy to read license plates. However, footage from driving is not quite crisp enough to read license plates consistently, especially if the person is in the lane next to you on a highway. With the 4k claims I'd expect it to be a little more crisp.Overall, I did a lot of resurrect and I don't think I could find a better product out there. The pro's far outweigh the few minor complaints I have and I really like this camera.
