Rite in the RainWeatherproof Top Spiral Notebook, 3" x 5", Black Cover, Universal Pattern (No. 735)

I carry one of these in my hipbelt to jot notes at work. I like that they can get wet, never smear (at least not yet), and come in lots of sizes. The covers are tough, so they won't die before the notebook is used up. Handy enough that if I leave it in the van, I'll go back and get it. A simple product that is well done!

I've used RITR notebooks for geocaches, and I bought 3 of these for new geocaches I am hiding. I think it is important that caches have good sturdy logbooks that aren't ruined if water gets into the cache. It's not much fun to find a cache with a logbook that is nothing but pulp. RITR is the best solution at an affordable price.I can't give 5 stars, however, because I am disappointed about the pricing scheme. An individual one is $3.95, which is $11.85 if you buy three. A three-pack, which is the default option, is $13.75. I think this is poor marketing, and I'm glad I noticed that before ordering so I didn't waste money by buying the 3-pack rather than adding 3 individual ones to the cart!

I don’t know how this works, but it does. Water beads right off the pages and does not wash away pencil. Very good item.

The paper in these notebooks truly can be used in the rain with no problem, yet there is no need for a special pen, and of the dozen or so I tried work just fine (at least when the paper was dry). Easy to tear out a page to give to someone, the paper is nice and strong, and reasonably thick. These are great for EDC, though for a pocket you're probably better off with the 3" x 5" notebook.I tested a page by writing on it then holding it under a pouring faucet for about 30 seconds. After, the paper was still good and strong, though the water repellent qualities were diminished a bit. It was actually a bit soggy after that, but it dried just fine with no major wrinkling. If you plan to write on this in an actual rainstorm, you will need a pen that's capable of working well even when wet. I imagine a Fisher Space Pen would do the trick.

I have never written a review on the 2+ years I've spent ordering dozens of things on Amazon. After testing out this product, I simply couldn't resist!I'm an EMT student and have really gotten into the hobby of improving my Every Day Carry. I literally cannot imagine leaving home without this notepad! I will use it for my clinicals and for notes I need to have on me about various things. The best part is, these are darn cheap! I'm able to fit most pt hx and a few vitals all on one sheet with the cheap paper mate pens I have, ink dries very fast!So I tested it! I ran it under the faucet, without whipping off water I started writing on it. If there was a huge drop of water on part of the sheet the ink spread out a little but, but if I just whipped the bulk of the water with my fingers I could write perfectly. Immediately after writing as much as I could as quickly as I could on one sheet I gave it a good rinse under the faucet again. Worked just fine. I put it through different variations of this as much as I could, the stuff really is water proof! And after reading other reviews I am VERY happy my cheap pens work just fine!10/10 would buy again, recommended them to other students in my class and several immediately bought their own notebooks!
