Cool Season Gardener -- Super handy
I am a summer gardener and have always wanted to extend my skills into the cooler seasons. The "Cool Season Gardener" not only gives a great overview of how to garden in cooler weather, it also gives inventive tips for designing and building beds and cold frames, and for recycling stuff you have on hand to make cloches and garden bed covers. My favorite thing about the book: I love the planting chart in the back that lists plants that do well in cooler weather and optimal times and conditions for planting them. Super handy!

Everyday Gardening
For those who love gardening, and would like to continue eating homegrown produce all year long, this book is priceless. Tips, how-to, ideas, thoughts, good writing, photographs; it's all there. Cool Season Gardener works for novice gardeners as well as the seasoned pros. Everyone can learn something, and it opens the possibilities of sharing produce, and interesting conversation, at Christmas, from your very own garden. How cool is that!

Winter Gardening Made Simple
While I've been an avid gardener for many years I haven't been inspired to break into winter gardening until I read this book. It's accessible, well written, chock full of great information and inspired me to order seeds for fava beans, beets, cabbage, kale and my beloved Walla Walla onions.

Cool Season Gardener
Gardening year round is a new concept for this gardener. The book is easy to use to plan and implement your garden so you're growing all year. Love the drawings too. Rotation of crops, soil it's all there at your fingertips. Whoever said a garden is dormant in the winter never tasted good kale.
