Dino Discovery 3D Sandbox for Kids with 1 Pound Moldable Indoor Artificial Play Sand, Shaping Molds, Dinosaur Figures, 3D Tray

As my 5 year old was playing with a different brand of sand, a messy-get-all-over-the-house brand, I managed to gracefully dump the entire contents of a quiche I was making on top of it. It was only fair that I hop on Amazon and let him pick out a replacement. This time I was determined to find a sand that wouldn't make me shake my fist at the sky as I vacuumed up remnants for weeks and weeks. And I didn't want to spend more than 20 bucks. He was less picky, mostly in it for the dinosaurs. This set is great. I love that the box also doubles as the play area. He loves all the pieces that came with it and we both love the super cool texture. It is fun to play with and it sticks together really well. It doesn't seem to end up in every crevice of our house and all over him. My only complaint is that it would be fun to have more of the sand in the box, but Santa will probably order some extra sand for Christmas. Oh, and one of the fossil leg bones broke right off the bat, but we drag him out all the time looking for real fossils so he wasn't worried because he knows that fossils can get broken.

My 5 yr old grandson just loves this sand. No worries about drying out and it’s very moldable. He enjoys the dinosaurs but also puts in his small construction trucks in the box and will play for an hour, that’s amazing! Very few toys will keep his attention for this long in peaceful play. Any sand that falls on our wood floor is swept up easily, and replacement sand is not that expensive. He’s had his cool sand for about a year now and enjoys as much now as a year ago. We just bought another for a birthday gift.

My daughter loses focus fast and flits from toy drawer to toy drawer dumping everything out looking for the perfect thing to play with (truly playing with nothing long). She sat at our kitchen table for over an hour happily burying and digging up the dino bones. The sand is just as nice as the famous brand’s, and the dinosaurs and bones really make the set. I am planning to suplement wih more sand, but this was plenty for her to play with right out of the box. Cleanup isn’t bad at all and was similar to playdoh...gather up what you can and suck up the little bits left.

I'm really happy with this kinetic sand! I've always wanted some, and was so pleased to find this cool dinosaur set!The sand is amazing! It holds it's shape very well, but when you mush it, it comes apart in such a pleasing way. It's like if spiderwebs were liquid. I truly love it. It also does not stick to me at all, it truly only sticks to itself.The box/toy side is as you would expect. I like that the box acts as a sand box, and it's pretty sturdy too, plus I love the little T. Rex stand that goes on the lip. The dinosaur toys are your typical cheap plastic toys made from the same horribly inaccurate molds from the 70/80's, charming in their own way. The molds are really cute! I had fun pressing them and checking out the different shapes. My favorite part was the dinosaur skeleton. Mine was actually a ceratopsid instead of the sauropod pictured, but I'm perfectly happy with that.My one problem, though not a huge problem, is that the sand doesn't fill up the sand box like shown in the picture. You'll want to buy another bag of sand if you want to fill it up. Not a huge deal, didn't really bother me, but I thought I'd point it out so other people would know.All in all, I couldn't be happier with this purchase unless by some miracle it had accurate dinosaurs, but I knew perfectly well it didn't so I'm not counting that against it.

Purchased this for my 3 year old and my only complaint is... i didnt order more or it doesnt come in a giant box. He plays with it every single day it comes with mini dinos to play with and pose and walk around the sand mounds and also some molds. We really like that it also comes with little dinosaur bones so he can dig them up. The value alone is in the small pieces it comes to play with and if your a parent you will REALLY appreciate the box cuase it keeps the mess in the box with the high sides.If i had to purchase again. I would. it def keeps a small one busy and quiet for some sanity of my own.

The box set is fun. Lots of pieces for Dino lovers. The box keeps the play area in one spot. The actual sand was hard and not really usable. Good thing I ordered more to fill the box after reading the reviews that their was not enough.

I have two grandsons: 9 and 4. When my eldest grandson was 3 I first bought him the play sand (kinetic sand) and he was always playing with it. We would make "dirt bike" race tracks, etc. It was beyond easy to clean up and can I tell you that it is the same kinetic sand that my youngest plays with today!! These kits I recently purchased were to add colors and new fun toys, like dinosaurs. This is a great investment, it lasts a very long time and I recommend it!
