Antenna Tape Measure 2M - 30M Dipoles and Loops

Good sturdy tape even if you never use it measure dipoles, but it is handy to have that on the tape if you need it. It includes markings for loop antenna as well. They say you can use the tape itself as a QRP antenna but I personally have not tried it to comment on it. Do you really need it to measure a dipole, probably not since you are making a dipole you probably already know the formula but it is nice to have it marked on the tape.

He loves it, said he didn't know such a tape existed. It is still usable in his construction but extremely handy when helping put up antennas

I've had my eye on this product for a year before I bought it. For me it's a novelty gadget. I could pretty much get the info on the tape measure on my own but it's nice not to have to figure the data out.I saw a chap on YouTube using it as a loop antenna and thought that was pretty cool. Any metal tape measure would do the same trick but again you'd need to figure out the dimensions of the loop before you can set it up. This tape measure takes the brain work out of having to figure out the dimensions. Pretty cool item.

The index lines are smeared or scraped away at several points along the tape. Not good if you want to make precise measurements. The locking mechanism for holding the tape out is WAY too strong. You can hear it smashing, crinkling and bending the metal tape when pushing down on the lock lever on the front of the housing. Over time I expect this will seriously distort the tape with repeated use. Lastly the black rubber over molding smells horrible. If you've ever been inside a Horror Fright store you'll know what I am talking about. The Chinese rubber off gases a smell that is unmistakable.Probably OK for occasional use - but a tradesman would likely wear this thing out inside of a week.

It is a quality tape that includes 1/4 and 1/2 wavelength markings for amateur radio's 2M through 30M bands. It eliminates the need to carry a side list with that information which is what happens with standard measuring tapes.

Not bad, but wish there was more info on the tape.

The black rubber parts stink! Even made my hands stink! Smell like gas or some other fuel...

The Radiowavz Antenna Tape Measure was disappointing b/c it was cheaply constructed for the price. At first, it would not retract automatically, but in frustration, I pulled the entire measuring tape to the start of the spring, and then fed it back into the housing. It is now functional, but of course the construction is still as noted. I elected to keep it, but would not expect good service as a heavy frequent use item.
