The item itself looks great, if it's with all of our decor, however, it's missing a critical hole that you need to place the door in... It also came all scratched up. The coating is not good quality at all.

Updated review: I have been using this box for a month now and my opinion has completely changed. This box is horrible quality. First off, finding a good box to fit inside is very difficult. At first I found a low walled box that fit, it was smaller than the box but not terrible. Well, my cats were peeing and getting it in the box instead of their litter box. After one time, the box was cracking and bubbling. I did research and found a high walled litter box to fit inside and my cats are still managing to get their pee in the box and not their litter box. I tried using puppy pads to soak it up, but its still ruining the box. If you have a cat that pees standing, don't bother with this box, you will just be wasting your money. Now I have spend hundreds of dollars and have nothing that works. I bought two of these boxes and now four litter boxes to fit inside. Now I need to find covered litter boxes my cats can't pee outside of... Lord help me... I was hoping to resell these boxes online, but they are too ruined to try to pass off onto others. Original review: I was a bit worried about this hidden cat box but decided to give it a try anyways. I bought my first house (yay!) and needed to find a way to allow my cat boxes to be on the different floors without being ugly. I have a cat with diabetes insipidus. I decided it would be cruel to only have litter boxes in the basement and I worried he wouldn't make it from the second floor to basement in time. I ordered two boxes MONTHS ago and just held my breath hoping they would not be damaged. Well, I finally put them together. I put both together, alone, in less than an hour. The directions were fairly clear, only a few areas were confusing but I figured it out no problem! I wouldn't say these boxes are super durable, you don't wanna sit on them or place super heavy objects on them. I have them in my living room and they look very nice. I kind of regret getting the white, so I may end up painting them down the road. I will say they have some minor blemishes on each but nothing terrible or super noticeable. I have not looked for cat boxes to fit inside yet, but am sure it won't be too difficult. I plan on lining the inside of the boxes with trash bags to help prevent any loose litter or haywire urine to get everywhere/ruin the boxes.

I bought this (like everyone) to put over my cat's litterbox. The item seems to be well made, but a PITA to put together. It also smells really *strange* - like weird plastic or rubber. After we boxed it back up (to send back) my kitchen smelled bad for 2 days. The item itself is cute - the reason we chose to return it is that you can only put *tiny* litter boxes inside it. It took 2 days of hunting to find something that might fit - and it was very basic, so I decided this wasn't for me and decided to return. First off - it costs a LOT to return it - like 1/3 of the cost (yup - they make you pay return shipping). Secondly, after we shipped it back, I never heard back. So, I checked the tracking number, and indeed, they had had it back for a week. I had to send them a note (they asked for the tracking number first) to let them know I wanted my refund. They did say they sent a refund right after they looked at the number to see they actually had it back. btw, it was shipped one town over from me - no idea why it cost so much to ship. So - buyer beware. Better be sure you really, really want this item.

This is an updated review but the box lasted one month before it has been damaged in several ways. I saw a similar review which has had the same issues. Difficulty finding a box to properly fit, the material of the box cannot get wet without it bubbling and being water damaged. The worst has been though the door never arrived working properly, the magnet that keeps it close hardly keeps it close it is very light so my cat going in and out , the door would swing open. And i’m not sure if it was because of that or what but the portion where the door hooks so that it swings broke and now i have no door. This box is just so so expensive for what quality you get, trust me ive been looking on market place and have found the same/similar litter boxes for half the price. I feel bad as my mom got this for me as a gift and it was so expensive for it to break and be damaged )

I have 2 of these cabinets from the same maker. The are very functional and attractive. I line the inside with anti scratch clear plastic stick sheets(designed for furniture and upholstery) and white contact paper for the seams. This water proofs for occasional misses and defends against scratching. My cats are determined diggers and scratchers when covering their stuff. This can cause wear and tear on the cabinet. These little upgrades help it to last a long time in great condition. The other cabinet has been with us for years and is still in great condition.
