25 Progressive Studies, Op.60 by Fernando Sor

An excellent guide of Sor's Op.60 Classical Guitar studies which are wonderfully presented by Bradford.

100 page book 50 which are of use. The second fifty pages have tab notation. All the pages have fingering written above the notes. I find fingering and tab notation distracting and stops me from thinking for myself as I am reading the fingering instead of working out for myself which finger I should use. Same for the tab notation. I can read music I do not wish to see tab notation. You think your purchasing a 100 page book 50 of them are a repeat with tab notation. Might as well rip the book in half. As it is I will scan the book into a PDF file then use Photoshop to remove the fingering on the first 50 pages. Only half this book is any use with modifications.

The first half of the book are notes only but the second half includes all the tabs so great for when you want to consolidate your sight reading and also helpful if you’re just getting started with classical guitar and don’t quite know your way round the staff yet.

Wonderful collection of Sor Studies.

Dort findet sich zu jedem Stück eine hervorragende Einleitung und ausführliche Erläuterung des Autors, die pädagogisch sehr geschickt und erfahren auf das Stück, seine Schwierigkeiten und Besonderheiten vorbereitet. Manche übersehen das und beschweren sich dann, dass es sich doch nur um eine allbekannte Sammlung von Spielstücken handelt. Selbst als solche ist diese hier gut editiert und den Preis alleine schon wert. Mit dem Onlinematerial aber ist sie Gold wert. Das Heft und der Onlinekurs findet in Englisch statt. Wer das ein wenig kann, kann es gleich mit üben. Oder man ruft die Untertitelung im Youtube-Video auf. Die kann man über die Einstellungen dort auch automatisch mitlaufend in allerlei Sprachen übersetzen lassen. Natürlich auch auf Deutsch und das funktioniert erstaunlich gut inzwischen.

It doesn't get much better than this. Each exercise limbers up your fingers. It get progressively more complicated, which is perfect for a warm up exercises. I highly recommend this for students of classical guitar.
