If you love the smell of a baby after baptism, you'll love the smell of this! The oil is soothing and gentle and is seriously one of my favorite smells in the world.

I was so happy to find this balm as it smells just like the Chrism Oil used for my confirmation! I like to use it for morning prayer and know it would be the perfect christening gift for that special infant in your life. I don't think it contains Balsam oil but the other fragrance notes are completly authentic. Beautful!

Although I no longer have babies, I purchased this because still remember the wonderful smell of the chrism oil used in the Baptism of our children. Years ago I had attempted to recreate it with balsam essential oil, but it just wasn't the same. I like the scent of this very much and use it as a perfume. Almost any product with added fragrance triggers headaches or just bothers me because it never seems to fade into the background. This hasn't been the case at all with this balm. It's earthy and subtle and I'm very glad to have found it.

I love everything about this product! It’s terrific for my horrible cuticles and the heels of my feet, yet it absorbs nicely into my skin for non-greasy, all-over moisturizing. It’s a great gift that smells like chrism, one of the best fragrances in the world, to me!

If you're looking for an exact replica of the holy chrism oil used during mass, you won't find it...anywhere. It's different for each church so there's that, and well... it's holy oil, you are not supposed to be spraying and applying the holy oils like it's perfume. It loses it's meaning that way.That said, this balm certainly can trigger the same emotions as the chrism oil, I'd say it's missing just a few oils (I'm thinking possibly frankincense and balsam). My son's baptism is only a week "old" at this point so the smell is still in my memory very strongly. I'd have to say though, if it was months later I would have said it smelled exactly like the chrism oil.My opinion of the smell: it's a little heavy on the clove smell. I think it's to make up for a lack of frankincense. I still enjoy it though.Summary: If you're looking for an exact replica the only way to do so is to attend lots of baptisms and smell it at mass :) If you merely looking for something that is BASED on the smell of chrism oil, this is definitely the closest I've found on the market.

Ordered because I love the smell of chrism used during mass. This is very close in scent. Great for elbows, knees, rough feet, or just a little dab on the wrist for a comforting faith-based scent during hectic days.

We received a tube of this as a gift when our third child was Baptized (at 9 days old). It smells just like Chrism and feels good on the skin. It's not too greasy, either. I like applying this to my baby so she always smells Catholic. ;)We liked it so much, that we bought a tube for our Godson as a Baptism gift.

It's OK, it does smell nice, just not quite the scent I was hoping for. Also the product doesn't roll off as easy as I would like.
