They do the job.
I am using these to set up a freestanding tarp for motorcycle camping. I ordered these specifically because they are long (around 6"), somewhat adjustable, and (important in my case) the folded length is pretty short. I can pack them in one of my cases on the bike. Since they have no shock cord, each piece is free to roll away or get lost if you're not paying attention, so beware.

Great Tarp Pole!
These Paria Outdoor Adjustable Tarp and Tent Poles worked out great. When I put up my tent, I put a tarp that is larger than the tent over the tent. I do this help protect the tent from the rain and for shade when the sun is beating down. I only used this once so far, but it seemed to really hold up. I put a 6' x 8' Xpose Safety 12 Mil Polyethylene heavy duty tarp that is supposed to be weatherproof, rip and tear resistant over my tent. I connected the one end of the tarp to a 4' ft fence using sting and bungee cords and the other end was held up with these Paria adjustable poles, staked down with 10" galvanized stakes. The poles were fully extended to the 6' (72") max height. A big storm with high winds and tornado warnings came through. The high wind ripped out a few of the grommets from the tarp on the side that was connected to the fence. One of the poles, the 10" stake was pulled out of the ground. The other pole was still in place. Neither were damaged. I was expecting them to bend but they held up. Next time I plan on using two stake lines on each pole for more support with wind and to really test these things if another storm comes through. That’s what I bought them for. To hold up during extreme conditions. I get stuck in a storm at least once a year during camping season. I have been complimented more than once on how well my camp held up during a storm. These poles are great for my arsenal in battling those storms and keeping things dry and secure. I am going to get a couple more. for next season for the middle. 😊 I wish they carried different sizes. I could use a couple 8 footers.

Great poles, lots of uses. Sold as a set!
These tarp poles are very nice. I will say that I don’t mind there are no cords holding them together because you can customize the height. Which means I can use them for my Kelty Noah tarp at full height or if I want to use them as pole stands for my flap on my rain fly on my tent I can do that too.The aluminum does feel a little raw finished. By this I mean that they’re not coated too much. Because of this they’re a tight slide. I fixed this with wd40 and they’re smooth, I imagine I’ll need to reapply as I keep using them. I love how short they pack down because they’re not corded and I love the larger feet. I’ve seen a bunch of different poles from friends who I camp with and I prefer these to their rei or msr ones. I also liked that these were sold as a pair.My only gripe which isn’t even that big of a deal is there were not instructions so you need to make sure you put the right pieces together. The top and bottom need to have the mutli hole pieces for the foot and top peg to adjust and the mid pieces are the single hole fixed ones. I also band the pole segments in the bag as separate sets, since they don’t have cord. Just to keep them organized and I’m not fiddling around for pieces when I’m setting up in inclement weather. But I think a future model with numbers or color codes would be nice so anyone can set up the first time aight unseen instead of me having to instruct a new camper in my crew. :)

Strong, Stylish and Packs Down Nicely
I needed something like this and found a number of different products that could have worked and choose this one for a number of reasons. Versatility of product was first, with its different configurations and then strength followed. 7000 aluminum is what my tent poles are made from but don't be confused by thinking this is a tent pole which is made to come together fast by being shock-corded and have more flexibility so it can bend, which these don't. This aluminum is stiff and rigid and when assembled is very strong. The assembling is very easy and the simple PDF they send is really not needed, silver sections on the ends is the most important thing to remember. The poles diameter seems just right, a nice balance between strength and weight. The rubber feet are a plus and the color is nice flat finish to reduce glare. The construction feels solid and with proper use they should last quite awhile. These come in a pair and include a storage bag. I found other products that only provided one full pole at a higher price, what were they thinking by doing this escapes me. Maybe they thought we would use it to fish or something. I will be using these to support a canopy or make a quick A-Frame shelter when necessary. I am still trying to use a middle section as a flute, maybe with time and a tweak of some sort I will have a musical instrument as well. I am pleased with this purchase and may buy another set as well.

You need these tarp poles!
Absolutely pleased with these adjustable poles! I bought them to use with my Lux Twin Peak hot tent. I got two for the price of one versus buying the Lux brand poles. Are they sturdy - yes!Adjustability - very adaptable!Overall fit and finish - A+ I absolutely love the red anodized finish. The poles operate smoothly beyond my expectations. All in all I am extremely pleased with these poles. They packed down nicely and don't weigh a lot. I would also consider these to be a multi-purpose use pole. Shipping was fast and you get a free sticker.... who doesn't like gear stickers right!100% recommend these poles!

Perfect For My Needs
Really happy with the quality and versatility of these Paria Poles, I bought them to use with my Tarps when off camping and the option to leave sections at home if you don't need them is great as your not having to carry the extra weight for no reason, I really like that i can set the poles at maximum height in calm weather but if the wind picks up i have the option to remove sections and to drop the poles down low, a great product and one i'm very happy that i bought.

Sturdy and lots of adjustment options
Whilst these are significantly more than most tarp poles on Amazon, they feel very sturdy and are easy to assemble (there’s instructions on the order they need to be fitted for maximum height). I can now also pitch my tarp on my own, which I was finding a nightmare with the supplied poles!

Fantastic poles
I needed a set of poles which could be used to support the door of a big family tent, but also be versatile enough to used with a tarp for wild camping. These poles meet both these needs perfectly. This is my first time using a product from Paria, I am very happy with them.
