Amazing sound and build. Dolby Atoms 🔥
I bought a pre owned piece. Was very doubtful as I got it for $280. I must say it looks brand new, entire box was as is with the packaging, manual, cables, etc.Value for every dollar spent. Top notch Dolby atmos sound quality. It was just plug and activate easy to install, if you are connecting to a Roku make sure to watch some YT videos for help.No comments about the Sony build quality 🔥Great function too.. no issues overall loving the sound.

Perfect sound for my Bedroom HDTV.
Very pleased with this Sony product. Movies on Netflix or BlueRay sound excellent. As well the built in Chromecast allows me to stream my favorite Internet radio broadcasts directly to the soundbar. The surround sound is at a minimum, but I have the possibility to add rear speakers and a subwoofer if I choose. The Soundbar arrived in perfect condition purchased at a highly discounted price.

Don’t pair it with a Sony TV or a PS5 !!
This sounds really nice for action movies…. That’s it. If it’s mainly dialogue like a documentary or reg tv, it’s not great. Worse than that, if it’s paired with your Sony TV and or PS5, your forced to power the sound bar on then back off every time you change apps such as prime to Netflix or YouTube unless you want to listen to the terrible soundbar dialogue sound. In other words, change from prime, to YouTube with the sound bar powered off, you lose all sound until you power the soundbar on then back off to get your tv speakers working again. Crap design. As a fix for the time being, I unplug the soundbar power so it’s not connected at all. then if I want to watch and action movie, I have to plug it in and re sync it.All of this has made me understand that I will never buy another Sony TV or soundbar.

Has various setting depending on what type of show uyou are watching.
While it’s a bigger sound bar, the sound is great! I paired with the Sony subwoofer at while the sound bar has good bass built in, the added subwoofer really adds the extra punch. The item is rather pricey as is the subwoofer, but it does what it needs to do.

Love it
Sound is great. Some difficulty initially logging into wifi - if your wifi has an apostrophe in it, eg. Smith’s it won’t log in. I had to create a guest wifi, without the apostrophe, then it quickly connected.

Great Soundbar, awesome upgrade from my wired setup
I bought this soundbar a few months ago, I was tired of the wired management with my older system (Sony 7.2 Channel Surround System) and thought wireless would be allot cleaner and easy. I also bought the RS5 rear speakers along with this for better sound immersion and coverage. That all being said, it's great I'm really happy with it. Shows, music and movies come in clear and haven't had distortions or connectivity issues.I use my old XBOX ONE as a glorified ROKU or FIRE player and it does the job. The soundbar comes with an HDMI IN and HDMI OUT and it's simple plug and play. If you have multiple things you plan on using then a HDMI switch would be a good investment. The 5000 is a big, long boy and has a little weight to it and I didn't want to use the wall mount/shelf holders that came with. I bought the "GOFLAME 48” Narrow Console Table, Modern Entryway Table with Faux Marble Tabletop & Black Metal Frame, Slim Accent" for it to sit on, and it's a perfect size in my opinion. As far as sound customization, it's very simple and customization is limited but seeing as the system well meets my needs and expectations I can't complain.Overall, it's a good product, and I highly suggest this Soundbar along the RS5 speakers too. Good Buy

Often Inferior to the Onboard Bravia Sound Surface Speakers/ No EQ
No, I am not kidding. I am using the soundbar without any accessory speakers (no rears or subwoofer; the soundbar's bass is plenty for me) paired with the Bravia TV (A80L) speakers as an "S Center" channel. The result is listenable, but often (not always--it depends on the EQ of the source film) boxy and mediocre, with too much signal around 400-800hZ. My hope before purchase was that the spacial qualities of the on-board Bravia speakers, which are excellent, would be preserved when joined by the soundbar, and that the Bravia's 5-band EQ would control the soundbar. A baffling "nope" to both of these possibilities, though before I bought it, I got misinformed from a source that claimed the EQ *would* control the soundbar. The spacial effect of the soundbar is functional, but not elegant, and is, as stereo, inferior to two twenty dollar bluetooth speakers I use when traveling; the a5000 bass is adequate, but off-or-on with no real EQ, and the voice-enhancing circuit works, kinda. But the soundbar turns the TV's excellent speakers into what seems to be a flat, listless mono speaker set and kills the EQ to that speaker set--the bar doesn't integrate the TV's speakers very cleverly, but kills their brightness and natural stereo. A bizarre sound engineering choice, the flat "center" deal. All I hoped from the bar was more oomph and spaciousness with no compromise of the Sound Surface speakers in the TV, which--let me be clear--are by far the best on-board TV speakers I have ever heard. They are clear, the spacial effect is elegant and natural seeming--they even have some impressive bass that is not rubbery or hokey, especially with orchestral music, and the EQ lets one dial in more low end, dial out boxiness, or add sparkle at the top, all without cheesy artifice or obvious digital-reverb hokum. The controls on the soundbar, meanwhile, are extremely limited and seem designed by an entity with no human ears: you can jack up the bass at 100 hZ (or down), or voice at ~2k hZ. That's it. If you had junk TV speakers, this soundbar could be an improvement, but ironically, since I have a Sony Bravia, I rate the on-board A80L speakers as often giving a better experience than the soundbar, especially for films that are dialogue-heavy. Here's an idea for Sony: in the mid-1990s I had a Sony Trinitron TV with good speakers and if you ran audio out to other stereo speakers, the TV sound remained independently controllable, and you could adjust the mix of TV-to-room speakers to your taste. How about that? Most of the a5000 soundbar's defects could be remedied by allowing the 5-band EQ in the set to adjust it. (The drivers, esp. the tweeters, seem very good, and the bass is potentially, with a finer adjustment, quite decent). The inane, can't-change-it, flat EQ from the factory (you can add more dull-knife-edge-bass, though!) is a deal breaker for me, as is the weird use of the TV speaker set as a flat "center channel." Update 1: I discovered in a sub-menu that one can selectively increase the volume of each set of drivers (the forward firing ones, the ups, the tweeters, etc.) as a pre-set pattern. This is somewhat helpful, but if the goal is to adjust the EQ, it is somewhat like flying an airplane by adjusting the RPMs of each engine because the ailerons are kaput. Likely returning it./ Update 2: yes, returning the a5000 after A-B'ing this with a (similarly priced) Samsung Q800C system. The Samsung came with a woofer and rears; I had added rears to the Sony to see if I could improve its tonal balance; nice effect, but no change in tone. The Sony is very well-made, integrates nicely with the TV, but its default sound is crowded with upper-bass and low-mid sounds, and there is no fine-tuning this. The Samsung default is much brighter in the mids and it has a ** 7-band EQ **. If the Sony had a similar EQ, I would have kept it. I can tell that the Sony drivers are nice, but the default EQ subverts A5000's game and drains them of possibilities. Weird choice by Sony.
