I love these Da Vinci spin tops. I think I have most of them now. I rely on them for consistency. This set was on sale; so I grabbed it up. Glad I did. I feel better when I am not missing anything. This is an expensive excuse for “I want it”. But, these DaVinci brushes are worth the grumbling from my husband. I really do love them for watercolor painting.

I cannot stress this enough—do not underestimate the significance of brushes when it comes to watercolors! I've had my fair share of using generic goat hair brushes from Pentel, thinking they would suffice. Man, was I wrong! Let me tell you, the difference is night and day once you get your hands on a quality brush like the Da Vinci Casaneo set (Large Round Set). It's a game-changer! Don't believe those who claim brushes don't matter as much as the paper or paints. They clearly haven't experienced the magic of a top-notch brush. Whether you're a beginner venturing into the world of watercolors or someone who's been stuck with cheap brushes for far too long, trust me when I say this: Treat yourself to the Da Vinci Casaneo set. You won't believe the difference it makes in your artistic journey. To be honest, these are my favorite watercolor brushes. They absorb a lot of water but maintain a fine-point tip. I love the control I can have in every trace without having to dip the brush every second in the paint.

Work well and seem to be holding up. However, seem to hold paint a little too well. Using Vallejo acrylic and Tamiya acryl. The former seeming to be more problematic. Cleaning them immediately after each use, and then also using brush restoring solution on them, seems to be maintaining them properly.

Great brushes! The set includes excellent sizes, they look beautiful, feel comfortable, and hold water and pigment well. I highly recommend them!

I ordered the Casaneo round brushes (0, 1, 2, 3, 4) for miniature painting hoping they wouldn't hook as much as cheaper synthetic brushes. This was a claim from da Vinci, that the wavy fibers were better at not deforming. These brushes seem like normal synthetic brushes, they didn't perform better than cheaper brushes. They hooked after about 5 painting sessions. Rating these 3 stars since they're decent brushes but not good value at ~$40 for the set of 5 since they don't outperform the cheap sets in my experience. In particular the 0 brush didn't arrive with a very nice point to begin with. The 1, 2, and 3 seemed fine, but not premium in any way.

To be honest, I am an entirely new watercolorer. I went back and forth between natural and synthetic bristles, and decided on these because I figured it's hard to go wrong with da Vinci. I'd say my only complaint (aside from the description showing the wrong image) is that they don't hold as much water as I'd like; however, I'm a sucker for those muted, washed-out colors. Regardless, the handles are impeccable (love the no-roll design), and I can tell they will hold up for years to come with the right care. Overall a good choice if you want a bit of variety along with quality and don't want to spend a bundle on brushes.

Just started using DaVinci brushes so far love them

I had a #2 a few years ago when I started painting with watercolour. I have brushes from a few brands and generally I just use round brushes. The quill is always interesting and I really like how these ones in particular come to this very fine point. It makes painting with a larger brush easier as it's very versatile when you go from covering a large area and then just as quickly paint in fine details with the same brush. I like how soft they are. They hold quite a bit of paint and water and it seems to distribute evenly. I opted for the set so I could have a larger brush and the option to drop down. Or use the smallest for extra fine details when I don't need a loaded brush.

Nice package, good quality

I am very disappointed from the quality of this brushes. Two of them are unusable because the tip of the brush is ruined and the quality of the real hair brush is very very low to the point the brush can’t make a point when wet. I would expect more for the price and from this brand in general. Would not recommend this set.

I'm very happy with these brushes. They also have a bit of "snap" to them so when I lift off the paper I get a nice point at the end of my stroke.
