Bright
Much better as far as brightness, that's what I bought them for. Dont know anything about longevity yet since I have not had them to long. On that though, the reason for this purchase was, I have some other bulbs made by Osram that are similar and had good results as far as brightness and they have lasted since its been over a year using them. So when I purchased a new vehicle and the lights were dim I went back to purchase these. They are expensive but they do work, to me it was worth the money to buy bulbs that work with the OEM requirements of the car being Xenon. I did use LED high beams and between the two I can see for miles.

Bright but not obnoxious
Huge upgrade. GF was jealous of my lights. I think hers were original equipment HIDs. The are a bright as you could want without being extra blue or just obnoxious

Much brighter than OEM
I was a little hesitant to order these HID bulbs from Amazon, given the horror stories about counterfeits. Took the plunge anyway because the Amazon price was less than half what the authorized dealers were asking. Upon delivery, I checked the lights against the OSRAM Trust Program website; the label code (exterior packaging) and both lamp stickers (on the base of the igniter) passed muster. These D1S bulbs are definitely brighter than the Philips XenStart installed as OEM by BMW. I don't know about 6200K though. The color temperature is certainly cooler than the 4300K of the OEM bulbs, maybe 5000K max. So far so good, but I'll update this review if I run into issues with bulb life or performance.
