Best collar on the market
Absolutely the best Dog Collar I've ever had. I have a one year old beautiful and energetic English Yellow Lab. We live on 3 open acres nestled next to the state forest. Coyotes, deer, javelina, and other critters use our place as a highway. She is a good defender of her turf, but at night she goes nuts barking at the animals lurking in the dark. I have tried bark collars without much success until I got this one. The Petsafe collar was worthless and she acted like it wasn't even on. This one really works. It is solidly constructed, the contacts have a very good design, and this collar shuts my dog up. Period. I keep it on setting 6 which is plenty for her. I've heard the collar kick in maybe three times in the several weeks I have had it and she lets out a good whelp. The warning vibration is now enough to shut her right down. In fact, she barely barks anymore at all. But she still growls and plays with our other dogs all the time with no harmful effect. It just works. The lighting system is excellent and it's nice to know the status of the battery. I haven't had to charge it yet, but that feature is really nice. You can't go wrong.

Works for our stubborn dog
We used the Petsafe bark collar on our Pyrenees mix for several weeks and all it did was singe his fur and irritate his neck. In other words, it was not powerful enough to deter our stubborn dog from barking. Not only that, but the band fell apart. The Dogtra on the other hand, is built extremely tough and makes the Petsafe look like a cheap toy in comparison. The power on the Dogtra is much stronger and after barking, our dog let out a yelp and then magically stopped barking. Yes, the shock is strong, but not damaging, but it's also much more humane than the Petsafe device because one or two zaps is all it takes. I would rather my dog NOT be shocked than to constantly have his fur singed and skin irritated. A couple of barks was all it took for my dog to realize that wearing the Dogtra collar meant no more barking. Funny now how his behavior changes when he's wearing the collar. Instead of roaming the yard at night and barking at the wildlife or neighborhood dogs, now when he puts on the collar, he just lies down on his bed and calls it an evening. So this definitely works, is durable, the strength of the zap means your dog will be zapped less, and training will be more effective. Get this and don't mess around with the petsafe collar.

Highly effective for German Shepherds!
I LOVE IT that I have manual control of the settings. I LOVE IT that the collar reminds the dog not to bark with a vibration, so they have control over avoiding the zap. I have used this collar with three dogs: two GSDs and a Golden Retriever. Extremely effective on both GSDs, not very effective with the Golden.- On our GSD: our trainer specifically recommended this collar to mitigate reactivity, and it has worked extremely well. She used to bark like crazy whenever she encountered other dogs or saw them from the car. Using only level 1 setting for 1 day, she has changed her behavior and now no longer reacts to other dogs, even when she is not wearing the collar! I confess it was a bit heartbreaking to see her surprise the first time the collar zapped her, but she learned very quickly after that how to avoid the zap.- On a client's GSD: We had a problem with him getting a bit aggressive with our younger dog who is a bit mischievous, so with the client's permission we tried this collar on him. He needed a higher setting (4) to change his behavior, but it has worked. He really likes to be a working dog, so he needs to be able to bark sometimes. Over time he has figured out the minimum interval of time he has to wait so that he can bark between vibrations and avoid the zap. This is why I so love German Shepherds, they are so smart!!- On a client's Golden Retriever: He would bark very loudly for a very long time whenever separated from us. I hoped that if I put the collar on him he would settle more quickly, but he just kept on barking even though he was getting zapped. Even on the highest level! I tried it for a day or so and he still did not change his behavior. We also tried using the PetSafe No Bark Collar on him but that was even less effective. Disappointing
No matter the level, each of my 3 dogs were able to bark through it like they weren't wearing it. I called Dogtra and found out it only shocks the dog once every 15 secs. Any dog w/high pain tolerance can easily put up with that. It's no better than the $30 collars I've tried in the past.

Worked for me!
I have a highly motivated (*stubborn) 100 lbs dog that will throw himself through fences to get at deer and doesn't experience fear at all. Generally pretty quiet, but he has a bad habit of barking like crazy when sirens go nearby. He drained the batteries dry on two other brands of bark collar without even flinching, including one where I could remotely trigger it with a button. This one had him simmer down within the day! Great tool for incredibly stubborn dogs. Battery lasts only about a day on my dog.Mostly stays in the drawer now, don't be that person who lets your dog bark for no reason!

Waste of money for my application
I've used one of their remote trainers with my Malinois from about 6 months of age with great results; it's not in use anymore as he is down to full verbal commands now. When I found via nest cam that he was barking excessively while being crated when I was at work, it made sense to try a Dogtra branded bark collar. My dog would absolutely ignore any and all stimulation from this collar. He ignored the vibration and every intensity level up to maximum. As with the remote trainer, I tried the bark collar on myself before putting it on my dog. The maximum stim level of this collar is barely stronger than (maybe) 30% of the remote trainer. This might be fine for a softer dog like a Golden, but if you have a determined or stubborn dog, or one that just enjoys barking, don't waste your money. My dog is no longer crated when I'm away, so it's a moot point for me now.

Best one I've found so far
Works great. I've tried several different collars and this one works the best. Have a large dog with longer fur and most collars don't affect him but this one provides a good enough shock that even after years of excessive barking he got the message after just a couple times. I set it to 3 or 4 where other ones were set to max with no notice. Even when he's not wearing the collar the barking is much more manageable. Bit expensive but would have been cheaper than the 5 different models I tried at $50 each.

Left burn marks on my dogs neck!!
DO NOT BUY!we had this on our 110 pound dog for less than a day. On level ONE. She screamed in pain when it zapped her (we’ve used other collars and never had a reaction even close to that). She has burn marks on her neck where the collar touched her.

5 stars when it works... lol
I'm very disapointed. I really love Dogtra, but the YS600 is a big fail. Sometimes my dog doesn't bark and received a shock... sometimes he barks a lot and nothing happens... maybe it's just my collar. Maybe I have the lemon.

Good so far
Item works as intended, my dog was driving us nuts with his barking at anything, when he has this on he is quiet and we're happy.
