Q: Has anyone used this to store Barbie dolls? I'm just wondering how well they would fit.

That depends. Are you trying to get Barbie to leave you? Don't get me wrong, she may say she's 'in it for you' and 'I don't need all these material goods, all I need is you!' but once she has spent a few months in a constricting, transparent 7"x4"x2" space and she realizes this wasn't a test you'll start finding her staying out 'with friends' later and later and coming up with excuses to not be home. Before you know it she'll be getting calls at all times of night from a number listed as 'Stacy' in her phone but just so happens to be from the same area code Ken lives in. Take it from someone who's been there before: take care of yo' girl or someone else will!

Q: Does this organizer make a crinkly loud sound?

When you expand the shoe pocket there is a plastic crinkly like sound but it would only be LOUD if done when room had to be absolutely silent. I am very happy with this organizer. The pockets are NOT sized for average size (9-10) mens shoes. Works great for womens shoes. Hope this answers your question and.gives a little more info.

No, it does not. It comes with holes but not actual hooks. I received this 12/11/14.

Q: What is the maximum width of door that fits the hook?

My door is 1-1/2" and the bends of the hook fit perfect. I don't think you would want to go any thicker because of weight distribution even if you did try to re-bend. Just my opinion. Hope that helps ... if I understood question.
