Excellent candidate for a shell swap. Took the chip out of my factory key for my 22 Ford super duty and put them into this shell, worked great. The key blank from the OEM key won't change over because it has an extra tang on the end. So I had to get the key cut at the local store ($10), but it works great. Buttons feel solid, case itself is made of nice plastic. Key flip mechanism is different than the OEM, but actually much better. The OEM mechanism broke when I took it apart, this one was in tact. Easy to wind up and put back together. The OEM Ford logo back will fit on this case, but the fitment is weird and it overhands a bit, so I used the backing in came with. Also comes with a lithium battery which is nice given the price. Great product, will buy another one to change out my other factory key.

Its a replacement, but it feel really good quality delivered on time, contacted my local locksmith to programming the key for my f150 because it eas limited by mykey some feature of ford vehicles, but with this new key and programming it i was able to turn it off, now i can hear my music and no speed limit.

The ford store by us charged $75 to program it and it worked perfect in our 2014 Ford F150. The cost was great especially Compared to Fords cost of $250.

Once I got the key on this FOB cut ($20 at my locksmith) and I programmed the FOB myself using two other working FOBS for my F250, this FOB worked well BUT the buttons on the FOB took very little pressure to activate, to the point that my truck doors would lock or unlock while the FOB was in my pocket. I found a FOB cover with a clear plastic cover for the buttons which seems to make it harder for them to be accidentally activated.

DO NOT BUY!! I have never written an Amazon review till now, but this thing is fob is total JUNK! And I can absolutely say that. Because I install vehicle technology, such as security systems. I just wanted a factory remote for my truck. I've had it 3 months. • It programmed fine (the only thing it has going for it) • Ink is coming off the buttons. • Rear battery cover does not snap on solid. It'll sometimes come off in your pocket. • Push button to release your key is weak and the key will often flip open in your pocket. Stabbing you when you sit down. • **And the absolute worst is the buttons are so sensitive I'm CONSTANTLY setting off the panic, unlocking it, locking it, it doesn't matter. So bad toss your keys across onto your seat and it will activate one of your button options. It's like getting so many spam calls, you want to throw your phone across the parking lot. That's exactly what you will want to do with this Fob! And you can FEEL my aggravation in the video I posted (my apologies, it got the best of me. That also shows you how aggravating this fob is) Hindsight 20/20, done buying the cheap Chinese crap. $29.... should have spent $89. Downside was tried to make the best of it and it just got worse and worse. Should have returned it the first time it set off the panic in my pocket. Thought it was an anomaly and hit my key or something. Hope this was helpful! BTW- Amazon is forcing me to give it a rating. All I can say is it worked!!!. I got it cut and coded at a ford dealer. Ford wanted $200 for this key before any labor. I saved a ton of money. 2017 Ford Explorer for reference.
