Cool tool
I only gave this 3 stars becuase it takes some cordination to get your product to turn out like the ones shown and the item seems cheep to me, also it seems a little dangerious with a sharp knife edge on one side, I am not sure how I am suppose to store it properly. All of that said you can with some pratice make some nice garnish.

The center of the spiral was hollow and always spit out what looked like a noodle (think spaghetti) of potato
I picked this up for two reasons:1) I needed to replace a lost one2) I needed to get my invoice to the right dollar amount. The missing slicer was a plastic freebie that came with a knife set (it was the only piece I kept). The center of the spiral was hollow and always spit out what looked like a noodle (think spaghetti) of potato. This slicer has a solid spiral with a slightly sharper point. I found that I needed to place extra pressure on the slicer to get it to engage. The cutting edge is very sharp and you need to be mindful of your digits when using it. I do like the addition of the spinning ring as it makes it less painful on the fingers.

good for pratice
Not as easy to use as it looks...the screw pointer did not want to work in my potatoes it did not want to decend into the veggie..Once it looses it's grip then the slices did not remain nice and thin...Cucumbers do not work because of the soft seeded centers...I will have to pratice a little more but for a few dollars well it is something for the beginner in the pantry garnish area...

It works
Bought this as a "just in case" item. Only tried it once. It flexes so it feels a little flimsy. But it worked. Not sure how it will stand up to repeated uses.

Good quality, just...meh.
Good product, cleans up easy, works as it says and is good quality. Why only 4 stars? It's in a drawer somewhere. Like most silly ketchen gadgets, the novelty wears off quick. It is a good product though, don't get me wrong. We just don't use it any more.

much better if
This slicer works quite good for vegetables or fruits that are rather wide (cross section) and soft enough but not so effective for many others as the plastic screw is short and wide. It would work much better if screw is thinner and made of , say stainless steel

flimsy
I was disappointed in the quality. The last one that I had was a hundred years old and still worked. I don't know who ended up with that one. This one will not last long.
