Security at its finest
Great lock. I like it much better than the old style locks. I traveled with a firearm on a hunting trip last year and I knew these locks would keep my gear safe. These locks are much lighter than the old padlocks that I have used to travel around the world with the military. In Memphis TN the TSA lady made me go buy additional locks so that there was a lock in every hole on the case. I have never heard that rule before but I didn’t want to argue with her. I don’t believe anyone could get past 4 of these locks. But in Memphis it’s best not to argue. I bought 2 of those little wire locks for a suitcase and she was happy.

Nice quality!
I used for a Gun travel case for check in luggage. It was approved (2024) and fit well. On American I needed 2 on my case - check with your airline. Just alerted the gate agent and then they asked me a few questions and filled out a form to put in my suit case ( I was flying out of California). No problems.

Good quality, works well, looks good.
Why did you pick this product vs others?:These feel heavy duty and smooth actions. I really like the rubber protective sleeve around the edge. Well designed and easy to program.

Good locks, but…
I had never traveled with a firearm before, but these locks looked like they would fit the bill. I am impressed with the lock itself, but there were a couple features I did not like. The less important one was the relief/contrast of the numbers on the lock dials. The contrast is not great and with the bright lighting at airports it made it difficult to read the dials without someone blocking the light to shade the lock.Secondly, these locks can be unlocked wiht a TSA key. I learned that you DO NOT need a lock that the TSA can unlock to travel with your firearm. A regular padlock will work, and quite honestly the TSA key accessibility is the main reason I would not suggest these locks. TSA keys have been stolen before, and quite honestly I am sure that there are people at the airports that have them that shouldn’t. That means anyone that has them can access your firearms outside of your presence. I would advise against using only these locks on your firearm case. Since I already purchased them I used two of them on my case and two padlocks knowing that even if someone had the TSA keys they couldn’t access the case because I had two padlocks on the case too.Ultimately these locks are good. I really like the single shaft, but had I known the TSA didn’t require locks to be able to be opened by them I would not have purchased these locks. I will keep them because I can use them to supplement the higher security padlocks I purchased, but I would not rely on them as the only locks on a gun case when traveling with a firearm.

Works as expected...Perfect!!
This TSA lock is great, I'm using it for my Nanuk 935 Case. The lock was very easy/simple to set, a baby could do it. Not sure why/how people from other reviews couldn't figure it out???? It literally takes ten seconds and all you need is a ballpoint pen to push the PIN in to set number. The lock is heavy and nice that it has the rubber protection on the outside so not to unnecessarily damage the case.I would definitely get another one if I ever got another case that needed a lock.If there are any issues, I shall certainly update with any problems that arise over time as it is used more but so far I'm completely satisfied with purchase and glad I went with this one as it seems more durable than the standard plastic/lighter TSA luggage locks out there. My only critique is that it is a little pricy at $20 (especially if you need more than one) but you get what you pay for and as long as it holds up over time it's well worth it.Overall Very Satisfied with Purchase

Locks work perfectly (with one minor issue)
I purchased these locks at the same time I purchased the Cedar Mills gun case. After purchasing the gun case, I watched a YouTube video showing the case was not secure so I was a little worried but realized the reviewer on Youtube was using regular padlocks, not these locks. Once I received the case and tested the locks, there is no way to open the box sufficiently to access the weapon without taking the locks off or breaking the case! If you buy the case, buy these locks! I would imagine they are designed to work together. My only issue is it is a little hard to see the numbers on the combination lock. It would be nice if the numbers on the locks were a little darker shade to make it easier to see. Nothing major, just a suggestion.

Good form for long case locks.
While not as robust as shackle-style locks, these are a great form for long equipment cases like Pelican cases. They compliment the structure of the case and thereby get some protection from impacts, and the post form is easier to access and manipulate than a U-shackle lock.Easy to set own lock combination and are a decent value for the money. They’re not going to stop a determined person from breaking them, but if you’re just looking for something to use when flying or for basic security, these are pretty good.
