This colour - Indian Red - comes for the W&N Winton range, which is a step down from their Artist Colour range, but very handy if you just need small amounts to mix into the better stuff. Also, Winton has some colours that are not in the better range. This one has good consistency, and the pigment is intense enough for my purposes. Indian Red is useful for warm darks in portraiture, where things like Red Umber or even English Red aren't working. It is quite low chroma, so will sit in the other darks without leaping out as a red. I had no problems with it. It stays mobile on the palette for up to two days - I cling-film and refrigerate my palette overnight to slow the drying process. I've not tried this supplier before, but am impressed. As a professional artist, sourcing good supplies at good prices is crucial to managing the cost of producing artworks that are for sale, and this supplier seems pretty good on prices. They certainly beat Jackson's by a mile this time.

Bonjour, le tube ainsi qu'un autre, était tâché lorsque je l'ai sorti mais je ne pensais pas qu'il était abîmé à ce point. En fait, ce tube est percé ainsi que le rouge indien... Les tubes ne sont pas protégés lors de l'expédition, ils étaient juste mis dans un emballage cartonné. A ce prix, c'est dommage, ils devraient être enroulés dans du papier bulle avec gros scotch afin de les protéger. Sinon, cette marque est très bien, belle pigmentation, c'est suffisant.

I use a limited pallette in my art and was skeptical of adding this. I can create something close. But this value of Indian Red is rich and bold and I use it all the time now!
