This book is an excellent summary of the SAP sales and distribution process. Helps to understand the basic functions in the flow, explains the relationships between the master data and process and also shows how to navigate the screens / how to use the new Fiori UX. I can see this book beneficial for future consultants planning a certification exam too.

Its great to have a book that covers all the new stuff in S/4 for SD. User interfaces are new, master data is evolved. Very helpful.

Book review: Sales and Distribution with SAP S/4HANA Business User Guide(SAP Press)Posted by René Rodrigue Efila MinkoulouI just finished reading the definitive cookbook for sales and distribution operations with SAP S/4HANA written by two experts James Olcott and Jon Simmonds. Published on May 26, 2021, in SAP PRESS this nearly 450-pages masterpiece made me particularly very happy while reading.As we all know, sales are critical to the growth of an organization. That's why companies are increasingly investing in well-defined sales processes that can provide strategic benefits. In SAP S4/HANA, the process is called Order-to-cash (from inquiry to customer billing). So, I think it was high time to have a book explaining the whole process in detail and especially easy to understand with the new SAP S/4HANA ERP.The book shows you the whole order-to-cash process step by step: Inquiries, Quotations, Sales order management, Delivery, Billing, Reversals. Each part is extremely detailed, and I personally discovered several interesting options that I didn't even know about! Yet I have a few years on this process which shows the willingness of the two authors to publish a book that is different from other books published by SAP press.Another interesting thing in this book with the arrival of S/4hana SAP introduced FIORI which is a new and smarter user experience in this book both authors took care to show first how to run the different flows with the traditional GUI transaction code and then show the same with the famous FIORI applications isn't it great?This will help you see the connection between the current SAP GUI transaction codes and their correspondence with the new SAP Fiori applications.My favorite part of this book is the Matrix part whether you are an SD consultant or just a simple user an important part of your job will be to troubleshoot let's not hide the fact that SAP system errors are sometimes very harmful and in some cases very difficult to understand the two authors have dedicated a part in this book indicating what to do if you encounter an error in an Order-to-cash step. We can only regret the absence of screenshots in this important part it would have been a very good thing if the authors would have associated the matrix to the screenshot.I think the whole book was well written and perfectly shows the vision of both authors so if you are like me, you are looking for information about, tips and tricks you have come to the right book.
