Q: Can the game be adapted to 5 players? (We have done this with other games, even making extra game elements -- but not all games can be adapted!)

The thing is everyone’s already on the same team. And it is designed timing wise for four players. The way I got around this was grouping people into teams for each player spot. But I could see some experimenting with extra players just know it will probably increase the difficulty.

That you can. It's interesting that it's one of the only board games I'm aware of that allows a 1 player minimum. It gives you a great opportunity to learn the game masterfully before playing with a group.

It can be played as many times.. as you wish. Plus each chapter changes the game so you have a few games to play.

Great representation of the movie, and not as easy as it might look.

This is a great model of a board game.The book has 5 "pages" that you turn and they become a 2 page-spread board. Each of these sections plays a section of the movie. For example, the first one is Wesley and Buttercup back in the farm, just at the start of the movie. Then, the second is when Vizzini and his team take the princess on the trip by boat.The game also accounts for the grandpa reading to his grandson as part of the rules.The board and pieces are great quality and the game is fun, but tough. Players really need to create strategies to solve each of the sections, as they are not easy.Real happy with the game, I think it is great fun for the family.

The card quotes are great and even younger kids that can read can play

As fans of the book and the movie this game piqued my interest, we got it in a prime day deal and it's been a hit with both our adult friends and our 7-12yo kids. It's team work based. You are working your way through the story trying to complete the "chapter objectives" before the grandson gets bored. If it sounds confusing there are youtube video play throughs you can watch to see how it works, but it really is a fun game. Highly recommend! Especially if you have sore losers in your game group since everyone is working together instead of competing against each other.

like 6 games in one

This was fun to play through with my daughter. We did have to look up a youtube video on how to play it, but once we figured it out we were good to go. It's like 6 mini games in one "book". The games rules change with each one. Our first (and only) time through took us more than 15 minutes per chapter (mini game). Still, with all that, we loved it.
