Exceptional product and service
This product was "lost" within the post office system. Jerry's Artarama courteously sent another chest in time for Christmas. As it was the main gift, this was particularly appreciated. The recipient absolutely loves it - it is practical and beautiful. As things in our lives should be. Thank you, Jerry's Ararama!

Red Rock Color.
Big tube. Buttery. Great red rock color by adding ochres , yellows and maroons with a touch of white to preference.

It's made out of particle board
I didn't buy it on Amazon, I bought it from Jerry's, which is where Amazon is getting them too. It's no fault of Amazon, nor even of Jerry's Artarama (well, maybe Jerry's should be more careful about what they carry?). Charvin's oil painting chest, which says right on the packaging that it is made of wood, is nothing more than 100% particle board, from top to bottom. Which is technically wood, if you count reconstituted wood fibers as wood. But the thinner parts were very flimsy. The box overall was very beautiful, with faux brass handles on the sides and a lock and key and everything. But it is not as Charvin claims, an "heirloom" quality item. I returned mine, and you should be wary of buying this chest empty, or full of painting supplies (Charvin sells them full of oil painting supplies too). I was very disappointed, it's so pretty, but it's cheaply made. Again, no fault of Amazon here, but I nearly bought one on Amazon and thought I should warn other buyers to beware. You may buy it and love it, but just know beforehand that the claims on the manufacturer's description are false.
