Great product and price
This is the cleanest easiest way to repot Phal orchids. I have used it for years with great success. The addition of perlite and charcoal do their job. This medium will last 2 years or more if handled and used correctly. This bag is HUGE! You can't beat Amazon's price. at 6.87. A tiny half of a half bag at Lowes was 5.98 last week. Glad I passed it up and bought this one from Amazon. Great clean product.

Simply the best.
I have anywhere from 40-60 houseplants at a time, and this is the most versatile and easily my personal favorite substrate product I’ve ever used. The cocoa chunks are the only difference between this and the “special” orchid mix (red bag- also a good product). The cocoa makes it a little softer and less wood-chips-y.At the same time, the orchid bark is great and abundant, so i pull the bigger wood-chip-like chunks out and use them at the bottom of my pots. The perlite is the other best part. Large, coarse chunks you can’t get at Lowe’s or Home Depot (unless you’re buying this product). It’s not perfect for all plants obviously, but easy to add some sphagnum or some Fox farms potting soil or whatever floats your boat. I have hoyas, philodendrons and syngoniums - all of them are happy. (Happier than my costa farms hoya curtisii in whatever that miserable mix is that it came.)

Used to amend soil for plumeria trees
I decided to plant my potted plumeria trees in a landscaped area in our backyard this 2022 summer and I used this orchid potting mix to help amend the planting hole along with cactus potting soil. Plumeria trees need well draining soil because they don't like the soil too wet and I was planting them just before the Florida rainy season was about to begin. I decided it was sink or swim for the trees; either they will survive the rainy season or not. So far they are surviving, growing and flowering! Some leaves yellowed and browned to show they had too much water but they have been doing fairly well. In Florida we have had rains almost daily since the second or third week of June; there have been a few dry days but it's mostly a daily rain occurrence and sometimes it's heavy a downpour. The plumerias just need a little kelp and micronutrient foliar spray to work out micronutrient deficiencies because of all the rain. When our rainy season is over this year I hoped to get back to this area and amend more cactus soil and the orchid bark potting mix. They worked very well together in the yard for the survival of our plumeria trees. I purchased these plumerias in 2017 and this is the first time they flowered for me.

Mixed medium and ample quantity
You don’t have to add anything to this potting mix. And I liked the value: bag size for price. I did find a few very large pieces of bark and/or sticks but not many. They can help with drainage at the bottom of the pot. Mix seems clean and not overly dusty when using. Overall, it’s a good mix. Let’s see if it will encourage blooming.

Great value and size!
Great value compared to in-store options! This is a good sized bag that will work for many pots. Whether you are planting new orchids or replanting overgrown ones, this is perfect. Easy to use, no dust, no odors!

Great Orchid bark! Just what is needed to repot orchids.
I was hesitant to buy this bc of all the poor reviews but it is a great product! It has perfect sized bark. not really much perlite or charcoal but enuf to make a difference. Good product! Much cheaper than buying just bark on its own also.

Works well
I buy this to be the base for my monstera soil. The bark is durable and good sized. There is little mess as it's chunky with little dust. I like the large form perlite. Very lightweight.Very versatile product. I usually add it most of my potting soils but primarily my monstera soilWould recommend this product
