Worked well for a month but now only functioning on one pad

Ordered this device yesterday, and it arrived today. One word to sum it up: amazing.

The item is great. I was able to pull it out of the box and get it to work in a couple minutes, this was do to not reading instructions. Without them, it is still easy enough to learn to use. Comes with 4 small pads, 2 larger pads, 2 connectors for the pads, one is a a double so can control 4 pads, Wall plug, Mini USB plug and the unit itself. It has 2 controls, an A and a B. There are 10 different settings and different intensity levels.Love this thing,

Ok so I was very hesitant about buying this, or anything like this really, because I have a Harrington rod fusing my thoracic vertebrae’s together (due to rapid onset scoliosis in 2008 resulting in a 65 degree curvature of my spine) and any kind of electrical current scares me for some reason even though I know my rod is titanium and electricity won’t hurt anything....but that is besides the point. Due to my fusion and the nerve damage that resulted from it I have a winged scapula which cause the muscles of my upper body to be extremely tight and contracted. I feel like my shoulders are always wanting to be best friends with my earlobes and the only way to relieve my pain is through athletic massages...which are way too expensive lol. So instead of making my boyfriend squeeze the bejesus out of my shoulders, I decided to give this massager a try.First impression were holy moly this is strong and effective. I have been using this for a few weeks now and still can’t get past the third setting and I am perfectly fine with that. Some might see this as too strong but everyone’s pain tolerance and anxiety levels are very different so getting out of your head and trying to meditate while doing this is probably the best way to enjoy the benefits of this. My pain tolerance is high as well as my anxiety, because of my rod, so I made my boyfriend try it out on him first because people were saying they were getting shocked. We tried one pad at first, nothing happened. Figured it was because we needed to close the circuit for the current to flow through (meaning we needed both pads so that the electricity can flow through to muscles) and i don’t know if that is actually true but once we put the second one on it worked!So we put it on the lowest setting on number one and it actually does feel like someone is squeezing that spot! We cranked it up one more intensity notch and he said it felt stronger....then the third and then the fourth, fifth and sixth and then said that was good enough for him. So I decided to put one pad on my shoulder to see what he was feeling and it could see why I bought this. Disclosure: don’t kiss while you both have one pad because we found out the hard way that you will get shocked 😂After the fun of that, I put both pads on myself and it felt so weird because the machine contracts your muscles. So what happens when your muscles contract class... *everyone shouts excitably* they move!!!! One pad was placed on my shoulder and the other on the lateral portion of my neck (basically directly on my delt and sternocleidomastoid muscles) and it was kinda scary because my neck and shoulder were moving like I was scrunching my shoulder up and tilting my head to the side but I knew what was happening physiologically so I wasn’t too concerned about it. I can see how people can be turn off by that though, it is a VERY weird feeling trying to relax and not fight that movement.That alllllll being said I love this thing. I live my life in constant chronic pain and this has given me the relief I was hoping for. I was being realistic with my pain goals when ordering this device because it isn’t very expensive so I wasn’t expecting TOTAL pain relief.... that would just be absurd. I will say doing this for 15 minutes at the start of my day (While I am doing my mindfulness) did make my pain bearable throughout the day and found I wasn’t grabbing at my shoulders or cracking the crap out of my neck all the time. I’m a nurse at a hospital who is always pushing my upper body to the max. Lifting patients and running around like a crazy person for 12 hours with only the mandated 30 minute breaks we get can really tense a person up. The fact that this relieved even the slightest bit of pain caused by my pre-existing condition along with the stresses of the job is astounding to me. Now I don’t have to walk around every second of everyday smelling like a giant salon-pas, or looking like I got run over by a car (again) with all these patches on me because of this. I highly recommend if you’re looking to loosen up your muscles a bit. I like that I can get to the point where I can work out the rest of the knots with a tennis ball because for me only using a tennis ball was torture to try and work out those HUGE knots. Wouldn’t recommend if you’re hoping for some magic pain relief that will make you feel like you’re a baby again with no pain whatsoever because let’s face it, there are very slim chances of that coming true lol

This is my third unit and it's better than those. Got my first one in Vegas at a kiosk for $100 when they first came out. This one just as good for less than half the price. There are more options and the pulses are distinctly different which is nice depending on what you need in that moment. Big screen, easy to read. I recommend it.
