Gear Head USB 2.0 Speakers for Home/Office (SP1500USB)

usb speakers...small and compact and sounds pretty good. They are a little too light weight for my taste and at higher volume levels they vibrate and appear to be "farting" but it is these things literally vibrating on the desk, so I placed a little piece of 3M double sided sticky tape on the little rubberless feet. For the price, these are darn decent office, or portable speakers. My only complaint is that the USB cord on these things are incredibly short, less than 3 feet. Makes placement kinda hard. I would buy these again...and the brand "gear head" has never shipped me a bad product, I have bought at least 30 items from this brand...so, decent stuff.

It's a cheap pair of speakers and they have exceeded expectations. The sound quality on them is great and I have no doubt I will be using them for years. If you're looking for something with quality sound and don't want to spend a lot of money, I HIGHLY recommend these speakers. I am honestly astonished how well they work. UPDATE: I'll vouch for these speakers over a year later. They hold up, and they hold up well. The audio quality is decent enough that, unless you're really anal about sound quality, you're not going to notice a gigantic difference between these and a set of studios. SECOND UPDATE: Here I am in 2017 talking about these great cheap speakers. Honestly, over the years, I've realized they are not as amazing as I originally claimed, but for the price, they are a phenomenal value. I still recommend them, though I will probably be upgrading from them soon. Not because they stopped working, or the sound quality changed, but because I just think it's time for something.... bigger.

Don't give as a gift until you try them out. Bought two sets. First set worked great, got a second set for my moms computer, but she couldn't use her computer for a couple months and when i finally put them on the computer for her, they didn't work.... at all! And it is too late to return them. One thing though, do not use them at full capacity! Set them for 1/2 to 3/4ths capacity so if you accidentally click onto something at high volume, you won't harm them.. These are good computer speakers, but they are not super high long term use speakers. Okay?

For the price they are great. I have heard quite a few USB powered speakers and they have all been HORRID. I purchased the speakers to use with a TV in my bedroom (that has rear facing speakers making it sound louder down the hall than in the room) and they are DEFINITELY loud enough considering their small form factor and have better bass than the TV speakers (which I guess isn't saying much). These are not going to pump like Blaupunkt or Alpine speakers but hey if that's what you need you need to dig a little deeper in those coffers eh? But if you enter into to this knowing you are getting USB 5v powered 2.0 desktop speakers (yes that means no additional sub-woofer for extra bass those would be 2.1) and set your standards to a realistic level I believe you'll be delightfully surprised!

The speaker's sound quality is pretty good. The sound can be a bit tinny at times and the bass shakes the speakers and makes a rattling noise, at least it did for mine. They didn't last too long before problems started appearing. Construction quality isn't very great but that's to be expected for the price. Cheap plastic all around, probably easy to break. Decent for the price.

Bought these speakers for a coworker to use with a desktop. They were easy to setup. Easy to use. No problems with sound. Only using them for listening to class lectures and background music in the office. They do not have the sound of expensive bookshelf speakers, but I do not have a problem with the clarity they provide. For the price I think they are a great value.

These are great little computer speakers. I often do public presentations for which I need a sound patch for my laptop. When the sound patch doesn't work well I use these speakers as backup. Work great for a room of 25 or so. Also "pack up" really small.

it is great awesome sound (update): they only lasted 3 to 6 months the audio started to cut out then the wires came loose but they still work barely i would not suggest it unless you are planning to get better ones later. these are good value for 10.00 dollars so really you get what you pay for
