Great tasting cake!
My daughter has been gluten free due to stomach problems for many years. She has always loved Angel Food cake with my famous caramel icing. When she became gluten free, I didn’t know what to do. I had always used a cake mix from our local grocery store. I did finally find a local bakery that made very good gluten free cakes, but very expensive, $15 a piece. She has gone out of business and so I tried making my own. After a couple of fails, I finally found a recipe that was good. The problem with this was you had to buy so many different ingredients and I had to be very careful making the cake batter. Very tedious. When I read the reviews for this cake mix, I thought I would give it a try. Yes, expensive, but you get three and it is much cheaper than buying all the ingredients. You do still have to buy the eggs and be very careful when beating, but much easier than starting from scratch. Bonus! The cake is delicious! I will repurchase.

Disappointing, you still need eggs
I should have read the packaging better beforehand. I had assumed it was like the usual Pillsbury angel food cake mix that has powdered egg whites in it, so you only need to add water, or substitute liquid. Thus I ended up with a flat, spongy cake. the mix calls for twelve egg whites, and with the cost of eggs currently not sure it is worth the cost. may be slightly less waste and expense with use of liquid egg whites that are sold in a pourable carton.

Could not tell it was gluten free!
Our daughter cannot eat gluten -- this tastes as good as "regular" Angel food cake! Her father and I could not taste a difference! Daughter recently developed severe allergies to gluden and remembers what it was like to eat products with wheat flour. She also said it was as good as the Angel food cake she remembered. A total must have for us! Pricy and a bit fussy to make, follow the directions and they won't steer you wrong, but worth every penny to have out daughter feel as if she had the same yummy dessert as the rest of the family.

Thumbs up
The cake came out perfect. It's true that it's on the pricey side. Plus it requires 12 egg whites but that is standard for angel food cakes. The directions on the box are a bit sparsely worded. If I hadn't made AFC before I wouldn't have caught the instruction to cool it upside down. In any case, I was impressed by this cake mix.

Great for trifle!
I had several gluten-free guests coming for Easter dinner, so I decided to make a berry trifle using the gluten-free angel food cake. It looked just like regular angel food cake coming out of the oven and it worked beautifully with the trifle.
