As it turned out this bed saw a lot of action in its first two months, but it held up beautifully after nearly daily washings. The smooth evenly spread paste of fecal matter that he somehow spread in a perfect layer across the bed washed right out, and the many urinations left no trace of smell.I love that there’s no cover, you just toss it in the washer and dryer and it’s done. No cramming one thing into another and zipping.The dog and I love that it’s as fluffy as a muppet, although he’s unfamiliar with muppets.He’s carefully and precisely destroyed nearly everything that gets close to his crate; sturdy leashes, several “indestructible” toys, even the corner of the kennel itself is chewed (although almost no human objects). The bed is untouched so far, or it has held up.I was skeptical because I have a high bar for dog beds, but this appears to be reasonably supportive and quite durable.Although I would look for a fancier memory foam bed of I were shopping for an arthritic dog because this is lumpy, although this might work because it’s very soft even on the lumps.The dog is happy I swear, and he’s not in the kennel all that often. I’m sure the review reads like you should call family support services for dogs, but trust me he’s in the lap of luxury. It’s just been an unusual period.

Update:I have to take one star off because the other two that I purchased are not as thick as the first one. I shook them and I stucked them in the dryer to fluff them up but they're still not the same as the first.I pressed down on the new ones and I can actually feel the metal bed frame. When I press down on the first one, you don't feel anything.The old one is at the bottom of the pic and the pink one is one of the new ones I bought.I bought this as a last minute purchase when I was visiting my daughter in Kansas.I loved the way it was so fluffy and comfy. I also love the little pattern on it. It looks like little roses all over the top.I just bought two more that just came in and are of the same quality. They go in their little beds and one in their crate..They do come in vacuumed packaging. If you are not used to this, then you might not be ecstatic at first. All you have to do is shake it or put in the dryer for a couple of minutes and it'll fluff right up.I actually just shake them up a little bit and then put them in the beds and they end up fluffing up on their own.I had to wash the first one I bought and it's just as fluffy as it was before. It came out perfectly.
