Good value. I have used 52 dowels so far and they are pretty consistent. 5/16 is slightly small for 8 mm holes so they are not all tight fits. But with glue, it’s fine. It’s great that they come in cardboard boxes.

ALBO Wooden Dowel Pins 500 PackI don't often build furniture with dowels, but recently I've had a couple of projects that just wouldn't easily work with any other joint. This assortment of dowels 200 pieces of smaller diameter dowels and 100 pieces of the 3/8" dowels. The assortment of sizes is great for someone that doesn't use enough to justify buying a larger quantity of various sizes.I know this is an odd comment, but they are tightly packaged in zip-lock bags by size. The size and labeling on the box is really nice to store on a shop shelf and be able to easily find them when you are looking.

I don’t use dowels all the time, but when I do, it’s usually for quick joinery or small furniture repairs. This set gave me everything I needed in one box. The different sizes come separated in their own bags, which made it super easy to find the right one without digging around. It’s a small touch, but really appreciated when you’re in the middle of a build.The dowels themselves fit snug and tight in my joints. I used them with a doweling jig and didn’t run into any issues. Most of them were consistent in length and diameter. I measured a few just to be sure and only found very slight differences that didn’t affect my project. They’re strong enough for chairs, cabinets, and shelves, but I wouldn’t use them where heavy structural support is needed, just like a reviewer before me said, "These arent meant to hold up a truck". But for woodworking and general shop use, they’re perfect.The box they came in is surprisingly compact and easy to store, which I didn’t expect given the quantity. Overall, this is a solid value, and I’d definitely buy again when I run low.

They work as designed, maybe a little inconsistent in size, but no issues in completed projects.

just what I expected

I recently purchased these dowel pins expecting them to fit perfectly as they were advertised to be half an inch in diameter, a crucial measurement for compatibility with my doweling kit. After drilling out the holes and conducting a dry fit for a bookcase project using my new Jessem Doweling kit, I found that the dowels are only .47 inches in diameter, measured with precision equipment. This size discrepancy makes them noticeably loose and unstable within the half-inch holes, rendering them completely useless for my project. The fact that I tested them with a brand new kit ensures that the issue lies with the dowels’ size, not my equipment. This lack of accuracy points to poor quality control, and I am extremely disappointed. I cannot recommend this product and urge the manufacturer to address these quality issues promptly.
